If a top side can't easily beat a relegation-threatened side, they don't deserve to win or have any luck. Bet they get a lucky goal though Come on, Norwich.
Interesting to note that Chelsea, with the players they have, and a widely regarded tactical genius as manager, struggle to break down a packed defence too. MP get's slaughtered on here for the same. Where's Chelsea's apocryphal Plan B?
Don't know why refs always fall for that. I remember reffing a game where a defender did it in the box...penalty. Plonker.
I cannot believe the reaction of Norwich today. They played for a point, but they needed to win. The fans singing "we are staying up" at the end is incredible. Honestly, if that was Saints, and although the defending was good, and we attacked like that when we needed a win, I would be furious.
Jamie Redknapp said Norwich were magnificent, and it was a great point. Have I misread the table? Regardless of the opposition, they had to win today.
They needed at least a point. Now they need to beat Arsenal, and for Sunderland to lose their last two games. So they have the slenderest of chances, but on reflection you were right, they're ****ed.
Sure, they can still stay up, but they had an opportunity today to really go for it in the last 20 minutes. They defended well today, and as it was still 0-0 after 65 minutes, he should have kept Elmander on, put on Hooper and Redmond, and really went for the win. Sunderland need to get just one point against both West Brom and Swansea at home to stay up. And Norwich have to beat Arsenal regardless. Despite their involvement in the FA Cup and the fact they have guaranteed CL football, I still think they'll win.
They didn't play for a point...they were only allowed to play for a point. They needed to win, but it was essential they didn't lose. I would applaud my team too if it was Saints in a relegation battle who had managed to scrap for a draw against a top side like Chelsea.
