....and City fans 'lording' it. I was going to go, having gone in previous years, but having read most of the comments on here I'll continue to support charities in other ways.
Let me tell you and I know.! the vast majority of people involved 'organising' the legends games have a stronger Rovers affinity than a City one, they will be hurting just as much as the rest of the gas heads are, this game is about raising money for a Childrens charity and a fantastic cause, this is devastating news for this game as it will inevitably affect the gate tomorrow. I would appeal to ALL to put aside football rivalries for the sake of terminally ill children and get yourself down there and support the past players who you keep telling us did show some passion and desire for your shirt. I for one wont be lording it over anyone as I am acutely aware that Some gas heads are hurting badly today, I was too when we lost the play off final. I then received dozens of texts from my gas head 'friends' telling me to '****in' have some of that and the same last year when we were relegated. What goes around....
I'm confused, none of us has lorded it over in a threatening way? If some cause trouble at a charity event for terminally ill children then they need a close look at themselves. I can't go tomorrow as I have my 4 month old Grandaughter, but next year we will be there supporting this fantastic cause.
I will be there with my wife & 16 year old grandson for this wonderful cause, we are city mad & in no way are we celebrating rovers demise, feel for the rovers fans & can understand them not wanting to go tomorrow, here's hoping some of them do though. Idiots keep away, your not wanted.
i wasnt going to go as i had planned a weekend away with the family ages ago. if we were safe by the mansfield game then we were going away friday afternoon and coming back monday evening. if rovers were not safe then the family would go without me and i would join them as soon as our came finished. so i was missing the charity game anyway. however wednesday the weekend away got cancelled. i mentioned to the wife about us all coming to the game and she was up for it as things there for the kids to do. but after yesterdays trouble she doesnt want to go or the kids. looks like i may not go myself, not because of yesterday but because the family wants to do something as we missed out on our little break away.
banksy, you are in the know, is it now cancelled?? 3rd post 'tillys thighs' says so http://www.brfcforum.co.uk/index.php?/topic/115003-legends-game/
@Official_BRFC: The organisers of tomorrow's @Kickingout charity match at the Memorial Stadium have taken the difficult decision to postpone the game. http://img.ly/yNmx
It's the correct decision, emotions will still be high. If a gashead sees a smiling city fan with a shirt on he wouldn't go up to shake his hand.. Glad it's been re-arranged
no because you were already relegated months before the game so it wasnt as raw as it would be now if that makes sense if we had been relegated say a month ago then no doubt this game would be going ahead. but im with you guys though on this. i think its sad that its had to be cancelled. its a charity game which puts things into perspective. i dont understand why there has to be hatred in football.
What a shame that something designed to bring happiness and minimise suffering for children is spoiled by the brainless few. Come on true City fans, please join me in making a donation via the www.kickingoutforkids.org.UK
