Even though Fulham and Cardiff are deemed to be relegated with Norwich almost certain to join them after Sunderland's great escape we may not know until the summer who actually are the three. Fulham, Cardiff and Norwich are joining forces to seek a judicial review on the decision not to dock points from Sunderland for fielding an ineligible player. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/may/03/sunderland-face-legal-fight-points-deduction If they are successful that obviously the club finishing 18th may get a reprieve. I must say I think that they have a good case. As the article states when this has happened in the past the guilty club has almost invariably had points docked or if in a cup competition they have been disqualified so it seems strange that Sunderland escaped with a fine. However, it may prove academic. The standard punishment for such a crime is a 3 point deduction so even with that Sunderland may still be OK.
West Ham got away with it and so will Sunderland, they've made their decision and are likely to stick with it. In the games the 'ineligible' player played in Sunderland only managed one point and the deduction is usually based on whatever points were gained in those matches so a one point deduction may be all they will get if an appeal is successful...
http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/may/03/sunderland-face-legal-fight-points-deduction So whoever finishes 3rd from bottom will sue. Id refuse them entry into the football league, its not as if he wasnt their player, they just didnt realise you needed international clearance for a player coming back from loan.
Even though I agree with your point I can't but help to think we would have done the same if we were in their shoes. And that goes for every other club in that situation.
I would agree if its a player they just bought but its their own player so its really just a technicality. Id love to know if its happened to other clubs and its stupid of them to point to deductions for other sides because they were about players who were suspended or never where the clubs players.
Yep, If supposing Norwich, Cardiff or Fulham had of fielded the player and we were in the relegation zone would your hatred for those clubs mean you would have said they should have been docked the points, as has happened in the past with other teams? The article goes on and states that Accrington Stanley did the same regarding International clearance for their own player which was also just a technicality. I'm happy that those 3 are going down but also understand why they're doing it.
I would like to think Id have been like the fans of other teams during the Faurlin saga and say we deserved it, not like the norwich fans begging for a points deduction
and that will have been ALL Norwich fans then I guess? Why not add the word 'some' in there? You are often quick to point out such inaccuracies in posts and newspaper articles, but happy to tarnish the image of an entire fan base off the back of a handful of keyboard warriors. Better still, you could just let it go and confine it to history
You're right of course, but there's so much more to disliking you lot than just the fact that there were more Norwich fans than any others on here wanting us to have a points deduction. I've listed them all before so I won't bother doing so again. Anyway, if you are relegated it will certainly make the probable blow of us not going up slightly less shattering.
There are probably still people out there that think you deserved it, but really what does it matter? It's done and dusted, and you walked away with the Championship trophy. I know there is always likely to be animosity between our two sets of fans, but only if the fans want there to be.
We still hate Cardiff from over a decade ago, its not going to go away. Ask Col. Then there's the diving, cheating and play acting. Norwich are hated more than Fulham. Also, he played 4 games and they got one point, Norwich will have to win at least one game and get level on points to have any case at all. Teams only lose the points they gained in the matches he played in.
who cares, this has been running for a while, sunderland deserve to stay up, ffc the worse team I have seen this season, looking forward to some new grounds
Personally I hate chavski more than Norwich and I hope they knock the **** out of the ****s this afternoon.
A draw would be the perfect result, would mean the scum don't win the championship and the yellow vermin are virtually relegated. That would mean they need to beat arsenal and hope Sunderland lose to WBA and hull at home.
