    Sorry BRS... had to share....

    http://www.themag.co.uk/the-mag-wire/shola-new-contract-never-say-never/?

A Shola new contract could prove reality after the forward scored his second goal in successive home matches.

Following the win against Cardiff, Ameobi admitted that Saturday had followed his ‘perfect script’ but when musing on where he’ll be next season, Shola said ‘never say never’ in reference to the possibility of adding to his fourteen years at St.James’ Park.

shola new contract“I never say never because I don’t know what’s going to happen next season, but it has been a fantastic fourteen years for me here, I’ve loved every minute.

“We have had our fair share of ups and downs over the years but in the main I have been overwhelmed by the support and everything that’s come with playing for Newcastle United.

“When I was thinking about the game this morning that was the perfect script that I had in my mind.

“Professional pride kicks in when you cross that white line because you want to win.

“It was important to show our character and that we are still fighting for every point – that we aren’t on our holidays and still want to win matches.”

If Pards stays, then I can see Shola being offered another contract. But I think most new managers will want fresh blood.

    Double whammy really.

Plenty of appreciative applause for Shola on the walkabout afterwards.

Probably cheering as they were hoping it was their last time seeing him play at SJP. <laugh>

No new contract or even playing time for ben arfa. The team doesn't pass and move so instead give wor carthorse a new contract for his 1 in 12 record and low mobility instead.

Pardew must be applauded for such vision.

Pleased for him to score in last SJP game and hope he goes to world cup but he has to leave us now. Time is up. Could still do a good job in Championship though, Boro?

Most probably, I must admit that was my thinking.
But was pleased that he scored in his final game at SJP.

I just cant see a new contract, unless Pardew somehow remains against the odds.

Yeah, definitely a nice touch that he scored.

Hopefully that was the fairy tale ending he wanted and the author doesn't try adding a few extra chapters that ruin it for everyone. Good place to end the story. <ok>

If he gets a new contract it will sum up everything wrong with the club and will mean a lovely relegation battle next season.

Time to go but its up to Mike, Pardew or any future manager has no say over who comes and goes there. I could see Mike doing it just for the craic.

Yesterday Shola looked quite good. Not brilliant, but not out of place on the pitch, and more than capable of doing a decent job. The problem is that yesterday he was playing against a championship standard defence at best, and that is where he should now be playing his football. I've been a fan of his down the years. He's made the very most of the ability he has. The time has come now to move on though.
