I feel sorry for small, selling clubs like them. OP: I think after a season where he wasn't 100% fit or sharp, it's unfair to write off Paynter completely. He should be alright as a backup Becchio next season I think, he didn't exactly hurt our goal tally last time round, so why change it? Unsure on Montgomery, all I've heard is that he's pretty one-dimensional, aging, won't offer a lot to a promotion-chasing team and of course he rejected that move to Leeds last summer. Doesn't strike me as the sort of signing we should be making to replace Johnson, though I'll admit not to seeing very much of him.
Don't think Montgomery would improve our side,unless its Jim Montgomery,the former Sunderland keeper!
from what i've heard montgomery is good at what he does, nothing more. then again im like you donald in that i have never seen him play and yes he is aging, but i really dont expect paynter to do anything i have never been impressed with him even at swindon in his only decent goalscoring season he has ever had. His first touch is diabolical
Personally i wouldnt sign the moron! Why would ya, the lad turned us down last season after claiming we weren't able to push for promo like sheff u and that it was best he stayed there. So we finish 7th and they were relegated. Hmmm now were more appealing to him. I say jog on

Ok....NO WAY...... Montgomary (so called Leeds fan) had the chance to join us last seaosn and he said NO and took for money from the blunts. He was a midfielder in a team that were that piss poor they are now in L1 he is average at best and my view is if he did not want to come last season .... F*** off Alos i stand by my view of Billy....we need to give him this season ...he did not get the best start with the injury......

until i see paynter show some quality i will change my mind but i've never liked the look of him, he just doesnt seem to have an X factor to his game like strikers should, needs to be something they are VERY good at. every time i've watched him his first touch just seems terrible. anyway i dont want to sound like i just moan all the time so i'll stop. maybe montgomery isnt who we need but we do need to be looking at players like that and keep or minds open to all players that will be able to do a job, i didnt even kno that he turned us down last year
Apparently Sheff Utd offered him more money, not that it excuses him. I also don't want to see players at the club who aren't Leeds, hence my views on Smith.
