Which players would you like to see the new NCFC manager (whether its Adams or someone else) keep next season and who would you like him to get rid of? For me I'd like to see Ruddy, Hooper, Fer, E. Bennett, Tettey Kept, Get rid of Bassong (too many mistakes have cost us goals). Am on the fence about RVW, think he should be given until January to prove himnself capable of scoring in the english league, remember Iwan Roberts had a bad start to his NCFC career scoring only 7 goals in his first season but then went on to become a City legend. A friend also told me that RVW always struggles in his first season at a new club, but then goes on to do better the following seasons
I don't expect to see Fer, Snodgrass, Pilkington, Yobo, Gutierrez, Bassong or Elmander in a Norwich shirt again, and wouldn't be surprised if Hoolahan, Becchio and one of RvW or Hooper leaves. Olsson and Howson will likely attract interest too, but I think we could hold on to them. Much as Olsson is highly rated by us, he's been relegated for a second time, and spent a season with Blackburn in the championship before moving on. Howson I think could also be persuaded to stay at least one more season. Inbound, I'd like to see a CB (possibly 3rd/4th choice) and the key signing for me would be a creative CDM. To then line up as: Ruddy Martin - Turner - Bennett - Olsson Tettey - New Player Redmond - Howson(c) - Surman RvW Subs: Bunn, Whittaker, CB, Johnson, Bennett, Hooper, Becchio Squad: Murphy x2, Loza, Fox, Garrido, Total: 23 For me the key is introducing creativity from deeper positions, which is why I'd force Redmond to the right, and bring in Surman and a passing midfielder. That first XI would probably be able to compete with any championship side, but the squad would need more depth to compete over a season. Hopefully that can come from keeping hold of key players and astute signings, rather than being forced to promote the youngsters before they're ready, or making dubious signings. We won't be a poor club by championship standards, so there's hope I guess!
For me the priority is deciding what sort of club we are and what our footballing philosophy is. We can then build a squad around that. We need to be thinking several years ahead and working out how our successful U21's will become the core of our next premiership campaign.
I hope that the majority of the players on our books will want to stay - possibly with the exception of Fer and Bassong, both of whom have been a bit of a liability at times this season. Ruddy I feel may go if the right offer comes in, but we have an able deputy in Rudd or Bunn
You know Real Madrid would have had that given by the letter of the law. All that good sportsmanship probably cost us 3 points.
Various players are out of contract this summer and some have 1 year options; Out of contract are Fox, Nash , Loza, Turner. And lots of the cup winning under 18's and U21's who have contracts. Options for one year extra for Bunn, Pilkington, Tettey If we want to earn a fee for a player sale then we will be offloading people with a year left on their contract in the summer.. Rudd Martin R Bennett Snodgrass Hoolahan Howson Surman
Right, my honest opinion We will be looking for a new Gk as Ruddy will go. We need a new right back as our two are very average Hopefully Olssen will stay. Only Ryan Bennet and possibly Turner will be here so two CB needed. Tettey hopefully will stay Fer will go as will Snodgrass. Redmond might stay. Howson and Johnson not sure. Would not be surprised to see Johnson go but personally not too bothered about that. Pilkington is not good enough and a crock, get rid , Jonas the same. E. Bennet and Murphys will stay Up front needs a total revamp, possibly Hooper will stay Peripheral players, Fox, Surman...etc will go as will loans such as Elmander and Yobo So for me we need quite a re vamp to be competitive, bringing in around 6/7 players and a couple of loans New Gk ( or Rudd?) New Rb, R Bennet, Turner, Olssen Tettey Redmond Howson E Bennet New attacking MF Hooper Subs Rudd, Murphys , Garrido (?) would be ok as a left back if Olssen went, loza, strikers x2, CB x2 and 2x MF Most importantly we need a proper manager to turn the negative atmosphere around. Heard seen rumours that Lennon is to be announced next week irrespective what league.
Howson is contracted till 2018. Probably are most saleable asset along with JR. I imagine these 2 will only go if big enough offers come in due to there contracts.
Snodgrass, Fer, Bassong, RvW, Pilkington, Hoolahan, Fox, Becchio would be the ones I expect to see leave. Would like to think we could get between 15-18mil for that bunch which would give us a nice budget to invest in quality to get us back up straight away.
The players I would want to keep, and I see no reason why the club cannot afford to keep them are........ Ruddy Rudd Martin Turner R Bennett Olsson Howson Snodgrass Tettey E Bennett Hooper That gives us a decent spine for the Championship plus a decent reserve keeper (I don't trust Bunn i'm afraid) Leaves us finding 2 strikers, 3 midfielders, and 2 or 3 defenders to make up the first XI, bench and immediate fringe players. The rest of them can leave to start over or retire.
the last thing we want is a major reshuffle, its inevitable that some players will leave but we need to keep hold of as many of the full team players as possible with exception the loanees. We are better than the position we sit in the table and with the right manager in charge should be at the top end of pushing to come straight back up, some changes need to be made but we dont need heart surgery, we have played some good quality football on occasions and certainly need to try and keep the 'team' together, my fear is to many changes and we get it wrong again we will continue our slide down the tables. The main priority is to get the right manager in, and try and pursuede the majority of the players to stay with minimal changes to the team IMO.
