Exactly, at least they're utilising their former Empire. I knew there were some positives in all that raping of Africans and Pacific Islanders, etc.
Not sure what your point is, you should stick to posting the pictures. I think of you as the board's visual comedian.
It was more to do with the team GB topic than it was meant as dig at Cricket but people DO have a go at the others you mention, probably more than the do at the cricket.
I don't mind the french. But that's probably because I always end up comparing them with the germans...
The big difference with the French and their ex-colonies (and us) is that all their colonies are viewed as 'France Overseas', or some such, and elect representatives to sit in the French parliament. So they are counted as being parts of France.
It's ridiculous that people who are Gabonese count as French when they're Gabonese. That's a point, I missed Gabon from that list.
Correction: Colonies and Overseas Territories are represented in French parliament; ex-colonies, such as Gabon, are not (as far as I can ascertain). So your question is still relevant! It might be that they automatically have French citizenship, or it might be that they qualify for citizenship very easily/quickly...
So what counts as still a french colony? French Guyana, Reunion and places like that? (which incidently aren't countries so I have no problem with them playing for France.)
