Well actually exiled, there were three points, and an improved League position worth about £1,000,000.00 per place "on the game".
I'm sorry but after the mess of this season, and Monks clear inexperience with Subs and tactics, if our board appoint him then there is some serious questions to be asked by the supporters trust!........
I'm not going to waste my time posting too much on that gash that I just witnessed. Monk for manager???????? If the consequences weren't so dire for our football team, I'd be laughing my head off at the prospect. Appoint him and it's relegation for us next year. Let him learn his trade and get experience as an assistant or whatever, JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER MANAGER HAS HAD TO DO at this level. His arrogance f*****g astounds me!! In motoring parlance we can't afford a Rolls Royce manager but we could afford maybe an Audi/BMW/Merc equivalent. What we don't need is a Ford Escort type. I hope that Monk receives sincere thanks from the board for his efforts in helping us stay up and then I hope they tell him that he will have to serve his coaching apprenticeship under the auspices of someone qualified and able to do the job that our position in the Premier League demands. Will Jenkins & Co have the balls to do that? We'll have to wait and see. If they don't, I see us joining Cardiff next year.... unless they pass us on the way back up.
lamallana: No, Saints deserved something even though your shots on target were limited. Very positive in the first half and any team that out-possesses us by that margin deserves praise. As for the Swans, this comment isn't about Laudrup v Monk as that's been done to death but if anyone thinks Monk deserves a contract they really need to think again. Our players were gutless and clueless with absolutely no passion for the Club at all but the manager can't sidestep blame. I went to the game and for the first time ever walked out before the traditional lap of honour. We are in big trouble next season if this man gets the job. Sitting there on the bench whilst his opponent was issuing instructions. Useless. Cue the usual suspects saying the result didn't matter If Laudrup had been in charge they'd be the first ones whingeing. Sorry but I'm ****ing angry.
Have to agree! I would prefer the appointment of an experienced Manager - sooner rather than later - with Monk serving his apprenticeship under him.
Sitting through that was as bad as it gets, no passion, commitment, desire and not much ability on show either, to give Monk the managers job after this would be catastrophic. Outplayed, out manoeuvred, and out classed. Never seen so many long balls hit no nobody. Disgraceful performance, then listening to monk on radio on way home saying how unlucky we were and talking about all the chances we created. He must have been watching some other game on his laptop. Appalling.
This game was shocking, last game at home he was supposed to give us something to cheer. I have never booed the team in any league or any cup but I came close today. I wish I'd stayed home and carried on with the decorating! If this chump is allowed to stay its Championship next year defo.
I did warn you that it will be a game of no event, We see it every single season where teams have nothing to play for just go through the motions. Why risk injuring yourself when your about to go on holiday or in bony's case the world cup....Been watching football far to long not to know what teams do when its meaningless .....It was party time atmosphere because we will play a 4th season and monk had a standing ovation......the game was a non event and experienced fans know it or should know it....
No, I think you were getting Monk's excuses ready for him, daiswan. I really don't know if you were pissed off when we put in a similar performance v Fulham last season but I was. What's the difference today? A disgraceful attitude. Stoke had absolutely nothing to play for today and put on a show for the fans. With players earning in a week what some people earn in two years it's the lease we can expect. Being an "experienced fan" has **** all to do with it. No offence.
Well yet again the voice of the people speaks , if thats the sort of parties you attend then please do not ever ever consider inviting me. Inept gutless clueless and the reaction when the goal went in summed it up , a fugging joke .It was that good a game that I spent most of it watching what poor bugger would get struck in the eye with all the paper planes flying about .
Glad that your flirtation with the drop zone was a brief one and we could play this one with nothing but pride on the line (heh, and it showed for both teams). Come back stronger next year, Swans; us pass-happy mid-tablers gotta stick together.
So why don't you recognize that this was pretty much the case for the team at the end of last season....safe early and they switched off. The manager is ultimately accountable but so are the players given their salaries. ML was unable to address the post safety slump and Monk is clearly out of his depth. I sincerely hope he does not get the job. He is not good enough. Let him earn his stripes working under a more experienced head.
