<laugh> Couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery. Mass walkout? There were a few thousand at most. Some at 60, some at 69mins. What an absolute farce that was.

As I said earlier, a complete waste of time. Changes nothing.

I noticed it got a lot of coverage though. Around 10 thousand left but the cameras zoomed on anti ashley banners and empty seats as if 40k had left....

Got some coverage but they were laughing at it on SSN. It got built up as a mass walkout, then Jeff Sterling commented "well it was just a few". By 71st min it was forgotten. Maybe if at least half the ground had left, it may be a subject for discussion. It might have been plastered on the back page of a national rag. As it stands it'll be an amusing footnote.

For a good 5 minutes the coverage was far more about the fans protesting and leaving than about what was going on on the pitch. It got a lot more coverage than I expected and it looked like a lot more people left than I had expected. let's hope Ashley reacts to the discontent - tho I doubt it.

If Ashley spends this summer it will be because he always planned to. Stuff like this has no impact on him. Same goes for Pards, he'll sack him because he wants to. Not because of protests.

No. I didn't go because I don't get to all games. Corporate tickets so they have to be shared around (had more than my fair share) If I had been there I'd have stayed until the end as I have done at all the games I've gone to this season. Got no interest in protests, just see them as completely ineffective with a guy like Ashley.

EDIT: What a strike by Barkley, Hodgson better be taking him to the world cup.

It still poisoned the atmosphere and detracted all attention from the game itself, which was the object of the exercise. In the end, Pardew was sending Carver out with instructions for the players as he was getting massive stick every time he stood up.

    It's easy to be cynical.

It did undoubtedly poison the atmosphere and make Pardew sit down. I disagree the objective. The objective is very clear, to force Pardew and Ashley out. The only other thing mentioned is forcing Ashley to put his hand in his pocket. It will achieve none of those things. I do think Ashley will spend this summer. Not masses but to achieve his mid table goal he clearly needs to revamp the squad. He may or may not change Pards. One thing for sure, it'll have nothing to do with a half arsed walkout.

The bloke has skin like a rhino. He will do whats right for Mike Ashley.

It easy to be cynical. Its also fairly easy to be realistic when it comes to all things Newcastle at present.
