  2. Thing about what Sherwood is saying (ie. him being a tough act to follow) is all well and good, but it's not so much the teams we've lost to, but the way in which we lost. If Levy was happy settling for 5th or 6th spot, Sherwood might be in with a shout, but I cannot imagine that, having spent the best part of £100 million this season, Levy is prepared to settle for anything other than top 4, and I cannot see that Sherwood has instilled the confidence in him that will encourage Levy to believe that Sherwood would be a better manager than the other options that we will have out there, in the Summer.

Will our players be getting it together and "crash" the top 4 or will we be missing out again.I know our injuries didn't help but giving Arsenal a lot of charity ,like 6 points and a cup game didn't help. Not to mention West Ham...3 points and another cup game!!!!!
Overall,I'm looking forward to next season,if only to see Harry back at The Lane....MAYBE!!!!!!!?????

I'm still hoping Man U get that "coverted" 6th place and we can then get back to Saturday games.I hate Spurs games on Sunday. That way, perhaps, our injuries will not be so bad and players might get an extended run and get to know each other!!!!!

Isn't it 5, 6 and 7 if Arsenal finish 4th and win the FA Cup?

No Arsenal need to finish 5th for 7th to get a EL place thankfully.

We'd be fine if we'd have just approached the Europa League in a sensible fashion.
The Sunday games aren't such an issue, in my opinion, as we don't normally play that often on a Saturday, anyway. TV sees to that.

We might disagree over what is sensible though! I think a 25 man squad is perfectly capable of playing 60+ matches in a season if rotated properly. The error to be avoided is 'downgrading' some competitions - you need to try to win them all because being defeated saps morale. Change three of the starters and two of the subs every game and everyone will be match fit and raring to play and we can give all the cups a good shout.

  9. Anything other than a convincing win against the Spanners, today, will be totally unacceptable to us fans. It will be an utter disgrace to lose three times to them in one season.

Defeat saps morale like winning breeds complacency. With the right man in charge neither will happen. The most important thing is getting used to handling a big squad and finding who's capable and who's not. There's no point qualifying for the CL if we haven't got a big enough squad that's used to playing 2 times a week so the EL is important practice for us.

  11. Sherwood has to be sacked today. The team clearly isn't listening to him (assuming he's actually telling them anything useful), and we're getting De Boer in over the Summer, so what's the point in continuing with this farce. We have been a disgrace from top to bottom under him.

  12. Let's put Ledley in charge for the last game. **** it! Put anyone in charge, so long as it isn't this clown.

I wonder if he'll say anything particularly annoying after this loss? He actually got the post-match interviews about right last week.

A pity that the title of the topic can't be rendered in bold and underlined, really...

Can I edit it.? And insert the words 'the prick' at the beginning.

  16. Can I amend one of my last posts...?

Put the groundsman in charge for the last game, or the cleaner, even. We'd probably win that one.

Sherwood has to go, because my target of finishing with a tally in the 70s with the worst
possible GD has now gone (Levy has nothing on me compared to the standards I set) .

Any ITK on who our next manager will be? I read the tea leaves as it not being de Boer. But I'm not ITK.

  20. De Boer and Denis Bergkamp, that's what I've heard. But don't quote me on that.
