Liverpool spend BIG on failure. £650million on FAILURE.

Take the piss out of City and Chelsea for spending similar amount as Liverpool since the PL started and they have at least won something for their big spending. Liverpool have won the sum total of a massive **** all.

The stat relates to the league and when wigam and Birmingham can win cups as well as a Rdm chelsea....

The bread and butter is what matters. 650million for nothing really.

 

£650m over 24 years works out to £27m each year. Bit different from spending £300m over 3 years which is what City have done (don't have accurate stats but probably not far off).

 

Why do these discussions always come down to who spent what, points per £ ..... zzzzzzzzzzzzz

A tenth of our 20 year spend in 9 months to finish in midtable mediocrity.

 

There is no doubt that Liverpool have been very wasteful with money over the years. But it's completely insane to compare with Chelsea and City purely because we had to sell to buy players. Chelsea and City are under very little pressure to sell players to fund the purchase of others - so they can continually keep adding their squad.

Not only that - City and Chelsea spend a LOT more on wages as well.

 

50 million on Torres? 30 on Sheva? 80 million spunked on failure and you just kept spending your troubles away, another 200m lined up for this summer, males a ****ing mockery of FFP it really does. I am sure if Stoke had that kind of money to spend in 2 seasons they might have landed a title or two, it's actually a joke Maureen has only 1 PL to his name after the money he spent.

 

Down here in the Championship us paupers have to make do with Freebies and Loanees so its a totally different world to you guys! The only teams with any money in the Championship are the ones that have been "Rewarded" with obscene amounts of parachute money which completely takes the piss but hey ho! Teams like us have to not only comply with FFP but at the same time have to try and compete with those ****ers that have been relegated that can spend money like confetti!

It's a fair point mate. FFP=maintaining status quo. The bigger the club the better the playing field. to keep ahead of those beneath you.

US Ice hockey closed it's doors last year over this nonsense. Too much money paid to players, the draft system was wrecked by sly dealings and the top sides were still getting all of the best players, something the player draft was supposed to combat.
