Exactly Dan, I don't think anyone, on here anyway, would have an issue with the rhyme Clarkson used if he used it in the correct company and he had no history of racist attitudes. But we all know he's made a career out of playing to the lowest common denominator in that wink-wink nudge-nudge way of his. As you said, it was best left 40 years in the past. There is no blanket approach to tackling racism and racists use that as a weapon against rational modern people. With their **** "black people say it" defence being the number 1 example of this.
So you don't object to people using racist words as long as they aren't racists. OK for you to do it, not OK for Clarkson. That's cleared that up.
Stopme, you couldn't have proven my point more effectively if I'd contrived to set that up. You daft racist.
My favourite is "I have black friends, but..." Like this UKIP moron pointing out there's a paki in the party
I'd recommend you consider looking into UKIP. If you thought Maggie was brilliant you're going to adore Farage.
Or part-time racists like stopme who can't see the glaringly stark difference between someone of influence like Clarkson making racist comments and a few ******s, such as us, on a forum.
That's nail on the head Venom. Recently a rabidly devout christian woman was sacked from a school for telling a colleague that being lesbian was a sin. I would be done for that in my workplace and also for saying the rhyme Mr Clarkson trotted out. I was going to say there's a time and a place for it but that's not really right either - however, if you do hold those type of views you'd better be damned careful where you espouse them.
As much as I despise the old ****, at least Thatcher had a plan. Farage is a joke of a man, let alone a politician. UKIP have no policies, no answers, no long term plan for this country apart from 'let's kick the coloureds out and leave Europe, then see what happens'. Worryingly, there are millions of morons that live in England (<stopme>), so I am genuinely concerned about them getting elected. Will be a fun few months of civil unrest if they are though, London will turn into a ****ing warzone
Thankyou for your kind words Toby, FYI I have no intention of voting UKIP. What worries me most about UKIP is they may cause Labour to get back in power. Can you imagine Ed Balls, the dodgy mortgage fiddler, running the economy?
