There's only so many times that we can go over and over the same transfer rumours, so I thought we could have our own rogues gallery of previous and present cars that we've all owned.

I bought my first car for £50 back in 1979, which was a Mini Clubman Estate....

It was a great little runner, which included air conditioning that came from a 10 inch diameter rust hole in the drivers door :emoticon-0103-cool: and had the full wooden frame around the windows and back doors that I jazzed up with a fresh coat of varnish, none of this respray crap that goes on in our days :)

I've had in the region of 35-40 cars since I passed my test, the latest being a SAAB 9-5 Vector.....

Can't drive. 35-40 cars you say! So it's true, Europeans and Americans don't keep cars for very long. I've been carrying out some market research for Nissan, completely different trends here. People keep the same car for donkeys! My mum and dad, both in their mid 40s, have owned only 4 cars between them.

I will keep a car for as long as it can go...Being an environmentalist I tend to go for cars that have good fuel economy, and firmly believe that fuel guzzling cars should be banned from the roads.

Normally, i get reet involved with a thread like this, as cars are one of my passions, and i have had many notable and loveable steed's....

...due to me not researching the purchasing of cars in Espana, and having to postpone an earlier trip over to arrange it due to the lady getting the mumps, we are currently without a car of our own, and i have had to resort to hiring...

...this means, from my last car at home, a 3.2 litre German beast, i am currently running around in a Toyota Yaris, it's a 5-door, it's a 1.3, and it is the biggest pile of ****e imaginable, an absolute slur on the word 'motoring'.

BMW 330cl on it's way, but despite the showrooms here being full of executive motors, if you haven't been here long it seems you need a legal team of about 12 just to get your head round the ins and outs.

Hopefully Friday is the day, and if so, i shall revisit this thread with pictures, i'll try and find a picture of my first car, a maroon Ford Fiesta, 950cc Popular, a mark II, in a delightful Maroon coating.

    £75 it cost.

    Ho hum...

**EDIT** Soz RAW, i believe cars are a passion, and that the planet can be saved some other way...

This is my current car, not the exact one cos I don't know how to upload pics from my PC but it's identical. Had everything from old Escorts (old fart) Cortina's (still an old fart) RS2000 (still old fart but getting better) Audi UR3 Quattro (best car I ever had)

Just had rid of an Audi mate, a4 3.2 v6, it was a fantastic car, almost to good in many ways, as it didn't excite me it was so sturdy and stable.

Great ****ing cars though, everytime you sit in them and turn the key, you know it.

Hence back to a BMW, although i don't suppose i'll be getting the joy of icy roads mixed with rear wheel drive this winter, sadly..

I'll bet mate, i always said it was the fact it was a 4, and so long, that made it so stable, you couldn't get it to throw a wobbler, if you tried flicking the wheel, it just adjusted it all and fixed itself.

    What angines in your 3?

This is my car (well not exactly, it's a pic I found on the internet that looks exactly like it). 5-door, 1.1 litre manual, Fiat Punto (1995). I've driven it a couple of times and I think I'm starting to get the hang of the clutch, and I've been all the way up to 40 mph, in 5th gear! :D

2.0 TFSi, 267bhp good for 155 (restricted) and 0-60 in 5.7, beats the **** out of Boxters.

if You use your 10 mb just sign up again. :)

I would recommend something like Irfanview excellent picture and media viewer, again free, for resizing the pictures before uploading though. It has an option save for the web works well.

Aye, mine's got the flat bottom wheel on it, only criticism of the car is that it can be a bit harsh over bumpy roads which lets face it, most of Sunderland and Washington is. But i've yet to come across another 'hot hatch' that can match it. Saying that they've just brought out the RS3 so need to have a look at that one but it's steep @£40k.
