I will sit through 20 mins of Mauricio, but cannot raise the interest to listen to the opposition manager for the same length of time.
I feel like this could be a direction we go long term but at the moment as good as our fullbacks are their end product is not sufficient for us to play a formation that narrow with basically four centremids.
Has Ramirez dyed his hair red (possible bearing in mind the cornrow debacle) or did they get a random to wear his mask and hold his vacuum flask?
Well to be fair our options are somewhat limited and we may as well try it out. And we played something similar against Everton.
That is most definitely true, I was trying to theorise ways to experiment with youngsters and whatnot but realistically without just giving up any hope of coherence there's only so much you can change. Anyway, considering we already dominated the midfield whilst not really threatening that much going forwards against Everton, I just think taking out a striker for a defensive mid isn't going to do much for us. I mean Shaw or Clyne could plant a cross or two onto Rickie's forehead, we could score from a corner or one of the centre-mids could chip in with a rare goal, but I don't think you can rely on any of those things. We'd be putting it pretty much all on Lambert who's goal scoring confidence and instincts just aren't with him and Lallana who has had a quiet couple of games and is now probably the focus of 75% of the oppositions defensive preparations.
Godders will be piddled off at missing out on a Guly mask, as he's sitting with Swansea: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/01052014-sfcselfie-competition-1521478.aspx
For what it's worth, Garry Monk says managing against Saints this weekend will be his proudest moment so far.
Said some very nice things about his old club. Not going to tell you where though [not just at the beginning either].
He is also a very bright young man and I was proud of him. He is a credit to the way our club develops young men as footballers and as people. With regards to a Guly mask I have friends on the lookout for a spare one. I am sure that some moron will get one and immediately throw it away so they'll save it for me and if that doesn't work I shall hang around after the match to see if I can get my hands on one. Of course should a fellow not606er get one and not want it then I shall be very pleased to take it off their hands. I'll send the very lovely Mrs Godders round to collect it. That should give someone a treat as she really is very lovely you know.
Maybe if you pick up a Morgan Schneiderlin mask, the lovely Mrs Godders can be given a night-time treat?
