It absolutely is, it's fundamental for the club to progress.

On that logic then why not close the upper tier of the West Stand (like fc do) every home game then the KC will look full every game ?
Imagine how good it would look with another 10,000 seats added and every one of them full ?

The KC should be upgraded to hold 36,000

Lots of cheap tickets for under 18's

Without the next generation the club will suffer in years ahead

We would sell out at times..

Egg. Chasers fear a bigger stadium.

They got less then 5,000 for there huge play off game last season.

FC should move out and stop sponging off the smc

We don't need an extension, what we need is the seating plan to be revised with passholders lumped together not wasting the odd seat or two between groups. If we had a larger amount of match day tickets for sale together we might sell more. And then if/when that becomes too high in demand on a regular basis we can think about an extension.

Lets have a think then - any genuine 'big clubs' from a 'big league' with regular success who have a capacity under, say 27k?

Off the top of my head I'm struggling.

ps; that was a reply to goalaccio, not you pete.

    Quotes mixed up.
Goalaccio was saying we cannot sell out now.....whinge....and how embarrassing would the KC look if it was bigger and there were some empty seats?
My answer was how good would it look if there were 10,000 more seats and every one of them was full?
Not forgetting, and I never do, the rugby league minority in this city campaigned long and hard that the KC should only be a 15,000 capacity because 'Hull City will never fill it' They even suggested, in every issue of In any Kind of Weather (except, rain, cold, snow, bit of wind, match shown live on telly and the dogs birthday) fanzine, that the only way to fill the KC for 'soccer' was to invite leeds united to play there.
Vince Groaks where are you now ?

My niece tells me only 3 in her class go to city games BUT most want to go yet
    can't afford it.

Cheap tickets for young uns and we would be on the way to filling a bigger stadium

I'm not sure we should jump to 36,000 immediately, but I certainly agree with the sentiment.

There's a massive issue with the demographics of those attending matches in the Premier League(in fact, football at all levels), we need more kids attending games and we have an opportunity to lead with discounting kids tickets in an expanded stadium.

I wondered what you were talking about!

If we spend a season struggling to sell anywhere near capacity we could close a stand. I dont see the point though. It would be better to give away tickets or reduce prices.

When you look at the crowd nowadays there's lots of old people. We should be encouraging young people to go by various ways and see which works best.

Behind Swansea we have the second smallest capacity in the Premier League. No ones saying we are a 'big club' We are a Premiership club, a city club and a club with a huge catchment area. We have attracted crowds of 40,000 plus for 3rd division matches before today, how many 'big clubs' have done that ?
We are also a club that are just beginning on the road to a bit of success, we had very little for 104 years remember, so are you saying we are destined to be a Championship at best or lower club for evermore? Even in the old 4th div at the KC we sold out.

Exactly, we needed a 30,000 capacity stadium from the off but the RL lot and Trevor Brooking put a stop to that. Even if we had to give away 5,000 or more tickets every home game to school kids, it doesn't matter, its money in the bank for the future.
Also those objecting to the very idea should cast their minds back to the campaign we have just fought over the name change.
AA said a name change was necessary because the club cannot be sustained at this level from a 25,000 capacity stadium.

I agree, it got me started in 1958, I played for the school team and we got a pass to get in for half price, which was sixpence at the time. In the team six went regularly and are still going to this day.

Must attract young fans with cheap tickets

Even give free tickets to pupils who do good at school

Those kids will be the next generation of supporters paying full price when older.

And with luck they will bring there kids and so on.

Hope everyone gets a ticket whose still in the Q

Those who don't , blame the FA
