I would never want to lose a game after 6 losses on the bounce no matter who it would put in the ****e - I would also never want to lose to relegate your lot - We need the 6 point bonus every season remember

I'm afraid that's where you are wrong fella.
Thanks for clarifying your point though that it was a general commment.
As a mod I have to ensure personal abuse isn't a feature on the board, no matter who the poster supports.
I like to think I let a lot of things go... but personal abuse isn't on.
    Hope you understand. <cheers>

By the way Clockwork - I'm not a mackem - I was born in Durham and lived there my whole life - who you support does not make you "from" there - I support Sunderland. Easy as that basically.

Its not a genealogy board its a football board so you are a Mackem regardless where you are from.

I hope that does not offend ACS's personal abuse rule.

    That's bollocks!

I'm from Jarrow, Tyneside. Therefore I am 100% Geordie <ok>

    Not in football terms.

You should hang your head in shame.

If there was a squad of your lot walking down street (lets pretend they could walk upright) in red n white stripes do you think people would "oh look at that gathering of lads from all over" or look Mackems?

At Roker Park, the Sunderland supporters from Tyneside would often belt out 'GEORDIES'

    Would, do they now?

I totally agree if it was non footballing terms you are as Geordie as me.

In football terms you are a Mackem, you made your bed.

Of course not, that all changed in 1992 with Sky TV's Geordie Nation campaign.

C'mon Sunderland fans in general used to shout Geordies, it wasn't limited to those from Tyneside.

Surely, the change started before Sky came along, was it not when the Mackem identity started to be accepted and took a foothold and they no longer wanted to be associated with Newcastle or Tyneside for that matter.
