Hi all - just popped over from our board - not on a wind up, just want to gauge the mood of people on here towards your game at the weeked.

How many of you would be that bothered with a defeat if it put us back in the **** again?

I know some may think it's a tupid question after the recent run you's have been on but I know some of ours would not be bothered to lose to the detriment of Newcastle (as long as it didn't affect our season).

Cheers lads & lasses - hope you hammer Cardiff this weekend!! (obviously!!)

I'm trying to work up enough enthusiasm to care.

How it affects your lot is not even a consideration.

Your maths isn't too good is it Only Fulham and Cardiff can be relegated this week - Sunderland can't no matter what happens with results.

Good to see where your heads at clockwork - don;t give a **** about my team as long as the mackems suffer?

I always want a Toon win. Yet this is one of the few times where I almost don't feel bothered either way. It bizarrely feels almost like a WIN/WIN situation. I would never be 'happy' with a Toon defeat, but recent events mean a defeat might not be a bad thing. More so as it will heap pressure on Ashley & Pardew if we lose - keeping your boys in the dog fight is just an added bonus. :)

It's not that I even want Sunderland to go down - I'd prefer having the derbies and it's better for the region if both teams are in the top flight. But I have to be honest and say it IS fun just seeing you boys squirm a bit.

If you do sneak to safety - and I think you will be safe - I'd much rather it were at the very end of the season after some real squeaky bum moments, just for laughs. <ok>

For me, the worst result vs Cardiff is a draw. Pards would most likely stay, we still won't get another victory this season and you boys could be safe. Now that would be grim.

Glad to see that you'll be cheering for NUFC this weekend though. Must feel quite strange 'wanting' us to win.

One other little thing to take into consideration is that it costs nothing near as much to go to Sunderland as it does to Cardiff or Fulham.

    Hi Marcus,
    Hope you are well mate!
    My view is like Obi's.
I never WANT us to lose a game but I honestly think we will get beat. When the feeling is as strong as that I like to cover my fear with a bet.
If we did get beat then the other plus is that SAFC would be on 'nervous street' once again which I will openly admit gives me a warm glow.
At the end of the day though I DO NOT want SAFC to get relegated as the derbies are special and I honestly don't think you will go down.
I'm going to the game with my dad (yes the Mackem) who will don our Brazil away top to cheer on the Toon (honestly he will)... after he game we'll go and drink some beer and moan at each other about how crap our respective teams have been this year.
I think Mags and Mackems alike are very much looking forward to drawing a line under this season.

Let me know when you are gigging in the Consett area again fella as I still owe you the pint I promised a while ago.

If it meant Pardew getting that sack which it won't I'd hope we lose, otherwise not bothered. Hope next season I'm back in love with nufc.

LE, gotta say you've summed up my feeling there.
I hate the way I feel right now and I'm hoping a Summer clearout... fresh faces and a bit of time lag renews my vigour.

Hello mate - been a while (what the hell happened to you on our board - I appeared after a short break and there were ructions!)

I'm good mate thanks - better than my team have been for most of the season. Gigs are quieting down big time at the moment - looking toward the holiday seasons and the caravan parks to make myself a bit of money really!

I truly do hope you guys win this weekend. Cardiff were shocking against us - OGS had some gall blaming simply the ref (and his excellent decision!) for their loss and not the fact that his team were ****e! If they're that bad against us and Remy simply half wants to perform I think you'll hammer them.

Will keep you informed of gigs up your way mate. Always canny to meet up with forum people and put faces to names!!

I want to win, I expect to win, in fact I'll feel cheated if we don't.

I'm not one to spite myself, and if we do actually win and it helps Sunderland out, so be it.
Not that it'll make any difference as you don't need our help to stop up.

    Marcus

By the way if we get beat you are deeper in the **** bonus

The real benefit is Pardew is more so and Ashley will have his hand forced.

Dont tell me you lot of ****e would not say the same cos I have seen it in the past

I want us to lose, failing that I'd prefer a win over a draw as both would keep Pardew in a job.

I don't like saying I want us to lose, especially for all those fans parting with their hard earned money to go to the game but I don't get all of this "support the team, not the regime" stuff. I support the club, not the manager, the owner or the team but the club as a whole.

And at the moment I believe the best thing for the club (aside from Ashley selling up which won't happen) is for Pardew to go. He's more likely to go if we lose games, these last two games are irrelevant to our season which is why I want us to suffer heavy defeats.

If he's still here come the start of next season I'll then be wanting us to win every game as the games become relevent and important again. My wanting us to lose has nothing to do with Sunderland, it's just what I think is best for the long term interests of the club.
