Apparently there is growing pressure on the United board to give the longer term manager post to Giggs.

Are we repeating the same mistake as in the past? Not only the appointment of Moyes but the appointment of McGuiness and OFarrell after Busby. We could argue that things are different now and that Giggs is different. He is a legend, he is calm and commands player respect. But is beating Norwich at home a clear recommendation that he is good enough as a manager?

Are we prepared to take another gamble. G.Neville says that we have to appoint Giggs and British. What the f**k is this about? Are we a club or are we a subsection of the England national team? Sometimes I despair when I hear the load of bollocks being said by so called sensible pundits. Although on most occasions I agree with GN, on this he is plainly talking bull****. Has he got vested interest in that Giggs is his friend and Phil N will get a job?

We need a bloody experienced manager with lots of credentials to rule this squad of underperforming primadonnas <ok>

Giggs wouold be a truly awful choice. No two ways about it.

Imagine giggs having to tell his long term team mates off. They are all ****ing mates mand some have been for years.

Could Giggs drop Wayne? I dont think he could.

Sorry Giggs but please put United first and say no.... if even asked.

There is truly a worrying bandwagon behind Giggs. He is british and he is/was a United player. And he is nice and "understands" United. But is this enough when faced with a tough match against one of the top teams? May be or may be not? it would be a huge gamble <ok>

****ing hell, it's not even the team selection, it's everything about the job.

    The enormity of the whole thing is way, way beyond the capabilities of Giggs. Without going into what it entails I'll just give a simple example;

Someone should ask Alan Shearer the wisdom of going down the 'let's promote our local hero on a wave of emotion' route.

And the Newcastle job is about one tenth of the size of the United job.

It is the worst idea anyone has ever had. He is NOT capable of doing the job, end of.

Giggs won't get the gig, end of.

If Van Gaal has got any sense he'll get the beaut out of the way as well, as he was duplicitous under Moyes

    yep. LVG followed by Klopp.

Giggs needs to earn it. If he doesnt then tough. We are not a charity.

His sides have never conceded and average 4 goals a game. The man is a legend.

Also I don't think it's good for Giggs himself. The best thing for HIM as well as the club is for him to be under the wing of LVG, learn his trade and gain valuable insight from a proven manager in multiple leagues.

There is a lot to learn. Any one with some knowledge of United could have put a team together to face Norwich at OT ( with all due respect to Norwich ). But could he put together a team to face the chavs at SB or City at the Etihad and be confident of coming on top?
I just hope the board is not swayed by sentimentality <ok>
