For one of an age you show a total ignorance of music history, I bet you were alive in those days as well. There's music of merit dating back hundreds of years as far as recorded music can be traced. Beethoven, Bach, Mozart to name but a few. Not the kind of thing you'd accompany with a skin full of beer but music of merit and talent to be admired nonetheless.
Miles Davis, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Ray Charles, John Coltrane... I think it was the year Lennon, Harrison and McCartney started playing together too.
