Just watching athletico tear Chelsea to pieces and got me thinking back to the Europa league final in hamburg. Every since then I have had a soft spot for them. Their fans were amazing that day, my son and I shared many laughs and hand shakes with them. Take a bow athletico, how I wish we had pushed on as you have

Yes well done Atletico, and no disrespect to them but they were already a Champions League side when we played them in the Europa. They joined the Europa competition by default having been beaten by Porto in the Champions League knock out round.

My eldest was getting grief at school for not wanting Chelsea to win. It was noticeable that it mostly came from a Manchester United fan who was born in Bournemouth to a Welsh father who supports Leeds United. I don't think he understands the concept of local rivalries, because he has no real connection to his team other than enjoying supporting someone who wins things (or used to).
