Granted, I havent heard it so it is open to context. But on the face of it CP could have chosen his words better IMO. Do not think my comment was in any way biased HRH, I actually share your views on much CP related debate, I just chose not to contribute to an argument that has become very worn.
I heard it. Live. He hasn't covered himself in any glory with his choice of words. It wasn't pride talking. It was bitterness.
Have you not read mine It smacks of someone trying to claim a bit of the limelight for himself (again). Colin Murray's fawning over him really is cringeworthy.
try and get a bit of perspective... the man only left two months ago. this time a year ago we romped to 9th, a year before that we mullered league one. of course he's going to have affection and a bond with us. i still call my school teachers sir or miss and i left there 17 years ago!
SuperC, do you think we should have a "Chris Powell, What do You Think?" thread, so that the pro and anti's can argue away ad nauseam? Or maybe they could just have a physical fight, just like the Monty Python "Does God Exist?" sketch?
Once the season is over and the new one begins I guarantee there will be no more comparisons involving CP. He will be regarded the same way as any previous manager is regarded. This has been a traumatic season, everyone will settle down, relax and move on.
