Having been out all day I am rather late to add anything new to the comments, however if SD is as fierce as he seems to be with linesmen, maybe Mr.B will get put in his place if he tries to interfere. I was actually quite pleased when Mr.B admitted to still be learning about the Watford way. Let's hope that he continues to listen and take what he is told on board.
It would be interesting to find out how many/who applied for the job.. Last time 50 did but the board only spoke to MM. Lets hope Bassini sticks to his word and gives Dyche some money to spend otherwise a difficult job will just get harder.
Orriginally dissapointed but now I think a wise decision, he will play similar to MM and watford will feel that it is business as normal which is a good thing
Much more pleased with this than I would have been with some of the names that seemed to be in the frame. He will know our youngsters. They know him.
If Kerslake does become no.2, I wouldn't be surprised to see either JE or MT become a player-coach (assuming that they're doing their badges). Even if they don't, I think he may be the appointment that they would've liked as even experienced pros benefit from continuity.
When i heard this afternoon i was very happy. For one thing, it was something positive, i think SD gets on well with the team, and he knows them and he knows the championship. I'm very glad he seemingly turned down the job of number 2 at Cardiff, that has to say something for him and for us. Not only that, the team will get behind him and want to prove we can survive in this league with him at the helm. With our new signing today, i'm feeling very up! Yes, we might lose another couple in the transfer window, but maybe now they will get behind SD instead of 'leaving a sinking ship' as has been said too many times already since this last, nightmarish fortnight began. Happy Hornette again COYH!
Well it's not the option i wanted but it's miles preferable to some of the anmes we'd been hearing. Welcome to the helm Sean and good luck. I just hope that if results start going a bit iffy the board doesn't panic and sack him - that would be the worst thing they could do IMHO.
I'm more reassured now that I know Graham Taylor supports the appointment. I'm not optimistic as regards our chances this season but, as ever, I'm simply looking for entertainment and hard work (preferably with enough good results to keep us safe).
I remember being a bit disappointed by MM when he was appointed. So I hope that SD can prove me wrong again. He's got my support and when I met him he was a top, top bloke.
Absolutely. He will have watched MM motivate, so hopefully he'll be able to keep that going...it was certainly a hard working team last season in every position..and a team in the true sense of the word...
Good luck Sean ,I knew you said you werent ready , but I reckon you are , Now get some more players into our squad keep the ones we got , have a good pre season ,then lets go for it! COYH led by super Sean!
Saw this tweet from a Sky Sports News presenter- 'Good speaking to #WatfordFC's new boss Sean Dyche today on #ssn. Spoke well, sounds ready, good luck. Show him some money though.' Not sure if Dychey indicated he wanted more money (I'm assuming not) or if it's the presenters opinion, but good to see he's made a good impression
