Yeah, he was amusing during his first spell with the chavs but he's bitter and twisted nowadays, maybe the rumours about him being a depressive because his best mate Fergie never chose him are true, and he even gave them Mata when Chelsea needed them more than yoonited and hes not in the running for the job this time either.<laugh>

Is there anything more fickle in football than a Gooner?

Going to be hilarious when Hull beat em in the cup final.

So it looks like its full steam ahead for LFC and the Anfield refurbishment project, and now Everton admit they can't afford to build the new 50,000 capacity stadium they yearn for, fair enough the blues ain't a rich club but its a bit cheeky to say they favour the "City model" whereby the local council build the new stadium and lease it to EFC for a minimal amount, Manchester city council had an empty stadium on their hands after the Commonwealth Games and it fell right for City to move in, but Liverpool City council are skint in the present financial climate and making many redundancies and cuts to services.

Add to this that the blues want to choose the location and design the stadium they're not paying for and you see they're taking the piss or its April 1st again already.

  8. Think that applies to every council in the country! Were I am, we are covered by both a county and district council and both are skint as **** <doh>

No afraid not. Gooners by a long long shot. ''Wenger in, Wenger out, and shake it all about....''. Gooners most known for getting on own players backs, booing, leaving early etc.

And city fans? Behave. Did you see their crowds in league 1?

    You're bang on Page.

This is an absolute joke, that amounts to nothing more than the usual wind and piss from the current inert and useless incumbents at EFC.

As you've rightly said the "City model" was made possible by the fact that they had an empty stadium that needed a use post the Commonwealth games. LCC wouldn't be allowed to build a stadium for the sole use of EFC with tax payers money, there'd have to be another reason for it's existence that benefitted the City and could somehow justify the Councils capital investment. Either that or the rent would have to be way in excess of the cost of borrowing for LCC, therefore creating a 'profit for them, which would surely negate the point from an Everton perspective as you'd surely just borrow the cash yourself in that scenario?

But as per the board haven't got the ability or desire to address the issue themselves by funding the club with borrowing linked directly to them. They are therefore of zero benefit to EFC and should sell up and **** off.

Tbh tobes it was just to get a bite from you, but yeah it is cheeky to pick a model that means the council pays.

Can't see it happening unless the blues pay at least half of the cost out of their own coffers.

the council will never build anything. the city is too small to bid on a commonwealth games so unless a world cup turns in i cannot see this ever happening.

everton have what they have, it aint too bad as tv money dwarfs stadium income really. its the 40k-75k gap that drives utd. 60k doesn't drive arsenals cash pile par se rather the property and other revenues.

If i were everton i'd want to increase other revenues first somehow and you know selling a few shirts outside the confines of the "people's club" catchment area might be an idea.. be careful what you wish for tobes at least your current board sustains the club. think of blackburns walker legacy or leeds or Cardiff crap... or our issues.

from my side i'm a bit sick of lfc being associated with every crap american company out there like subway, dunking donuts and Chevrolet etc... but i suppose it pays some bills at least we seem to know that fsg will sustain it in the medium term.

the question is do you trade on the market or offer fans those shares at a price for equity? would everton float like new york utd? or would there be enough interest to pay say 50mil for 10% share for fand and a seat on the board? * i made the numbers up)

Kenwright maintains the club is for sale and has been for years.......not like there's been many football club takeovers in recent years like, but seemingly not one seriously interested party in EFC...

Which makes you wonder why....it wouldn't be the asking price would it? Oh yeah that'll be it <doh>

I'd take having a load of naff sponsors associated with us if it meant we could compete at your financial level.......

Bill and his cronies have invested £0 into EFC and yet want to increase their original investment by 15 fold.

Just been been breaking news on Radio Merseyside that Liverpool City Council have released a statement saying the council are not in a position to finance the building of a new stadium for Everton FC, they say they will assist the blues in finding a location for a new stadium within the city boundary but can offer no financial help.

Why dont Everton just work with the council to create both a stadium for them but also a sports village to benefit the community.

Sure and agreement on costs could be reached.

Because the stadium costs would be £200m on their own, why should a local council pay for a football stadium?

It's just yet more bollocks from our hapless board, we've had a decade of this bullshit and it's become beyond tiresome.

The council will help us with the site, same as they were doing for Liverpool with Stanley Park, that's all that should ever be expected of them. At that point if we had owners who were up to the role, they'd be capable of gaining the funding to build the thing, same as virtually every other club has done, with Spurs being a similar example to us.

WHU and City got as lucky as, with their stadium windfalls, but that's not the norm as both were the beneficiaries of major games venues, there's none planned for Liverpool.
