No, but if he has been an astute observer- he's had 20+ years of current experience watching one of the best- and has been in a leadership role at the club. Experience is always a good thing- but it's not the only thing.
And if the inverse is true- then perhaps you should have made Rooney manager then! I don't think there is much of a correlation between how good a player is and how good a manager they become. I don't know if Giggs will be good or bad. I think he is NOT without experience though. He's been a strong leader in United's side for decades- been a confident of Fergie, and could potentially have picked up some tricks from him. Time will tell.
I understand where you're coming from, I think he has the makings of a good manager, BUT he's never been a leader on the pitch. Him and Scholes were never leaders, but were good mentors for others.
Aye, but SAF, Paisley, Shankly and others were the same - more likely to put an arm around a player than scream at the team. If you look at the great leaders on the pitch - Keane, Ince, Vieira etc - they have usually either been poor managers or not even tried. Busby and Trapattoni are the only great managers I can think of who were great leaders on the pitch, and Busby was as much a mentor as a leader. I think there's something to be said for the players who lead in a more subtle manner - they seem better able to mentor the players and earn their respect, whilst the overt leaders just piss players off. Back on topic, anyone think Pep might now be coming available in the summer?
Hope not Swarbs. We would get destroyed in the premier league with all tge teams that sit back and hit you on the break.

Rooney has more influence at Utd than almost anyone else, his take home pay is 2nd only to the Glazers, Van Gaal would be best advised not mess with Wazza or he might demand even more money.
The "probability that the RS will win the premiership this year ( for the first time) " has nothing to with the skills of their manager. More to do with the referees giving totally incomprehensible decisions in favour of the RS plus the same against their title challengers. Added to that, the cheating and diving of the likes of skrtl and the racist... #luckythisseason
