we were unlucky to go into halftime 0-1. ridiculously unlucky. what happened for the next 50 mins has to be taken in that context. I'm disappointed but not whining about it. It happened and you have to give Chelsea the lions share of the credit for a worldclass defensive display. You can feel 'unlucky' and a bit hard done by and not be a crying moaner. We didn't get it wrong, it just a fluke incident that cost us.
Gerrard was playing centre mid and yet there was no-one covering behind him i.e. A centre half and he was 50 yards from goal It wasn't complicated ffs, did you see Lampard ever close to halfway with not a defender in sight?
You clearly don't know how we play. Johnson and Flanagan go forward and centre defence splits, allowing Gerrard to sit between them and be the play maker. There is regularly no one behind him. He only has himself to blame not out defence.
One thing is obvious, that when playing these big games against big teams, mistakes will get punished! Ask Kompany and Gerrard. Chances are fewer (how many were created on Sunday) and the better teams punish you like Coutiniho and Ba did. You can't really coach for them or set out tactically to cover for them. Best not to make em in the big games. It's all good experience for the team. Chelsea have played dozens of these, Liverpool not very many, so lets hope lessons are learnt.
Because that's how we play. The centre backs split and Gerrard slots in between them. How would moving that set up 20 yards back up make a positive difference to what happened after the slip?
The point Tobes is missing is that it could've been Sakho passing to Skrtel & Skrtel falling over leaving Demba Ba through on goal. It was just a freak moment that Chelsea made the most of.
Tobes doesn't get it, because he doesn't want to get it. If it were any other team he wouldn't be so hard to explain to.
Lamaprd was playing a totally different role. His team had adopted a totally different strategy. If those facts need explaining to you then there's no purpose in your commenting!
Everyone forgets Porto, apparently Mourinho did a ****e job with them with their unlimited spending power lol
It's true, if you win the most trophies you are the best! That's not an argument it's just a simple fact!
I couldn't give a toss about the manager of the year, I'm talking about performing for much longer than just one year.
Feel free to look at the squad they had. He'd hand picked the best players from the Portuguese league and spent a fortune recruiting them. Winning the CL with them was obviously a great achievement but as you guys always say to us after our 2005 CL triumph; its a cup competition, any team can get lucky in them! Also, Porto were the underdogs throughout so it suited Mourinho's tactics to a tee.
But according to your logic it must be so. You are so f**ked up with your idea of "simple fact" that you do not even understand your own logic.
Best of what's happened but it doesn't judge existing players / managers that have not yet had the chance to prove their worth. Do you believe that anyone with a CRB / DBS check is a extremely well behaved person that could never do any wrong? Or have they never been caught or are yet to commit their crimes?
Years of being told history is irrelevant and over the last 3 days it's the only thing out of every critters mouth not wearing a Liverpool scarf... #trendsetters #waiteduntileveryoneelsegotsometotalkabout
