Well that would'nt help him in later life. (more than likley hinder though due low 'test' levels) I've worked with plenty of guys using various substances and Messi does not exhibit any of the obvious features that come from prolonged use.
And what happened when it mattered? Ronaldo stepped up, while Messi faded. Maybe two season is stretching it, but certainly for about a season and half, Ronaldo started to step it up, and Messi and his body could not keep up. When you look at Messi this season, you can clearly see that he is not as good as he was. He plays at walking pace at times, and his performances in the Quarter finals against Atletico Madrid and then his performance against Real Madrid in the Copa Del Rey was god awful at times. Ronaldo on the other hand, has just blown away the current Champions of Europe, and if you want to go down the stats route, he has scored 16 goals in the UCL this season (Messi even at his best could not match that), and was a force of nature for Portugal in that game against Sweden. But I base it on performances, and having watched the two this season, it's clear that Ronaldo has actually got better and Messi is not the player he was in season's gone. Maybe, like I said above, he saving himself for the world cup or something, but this season, Ronaldo has been streets ahead.
Messi is a top quality dribbler of the ball into the box and scoring , and thats it. We have seen that that can be cancelled out , park the bus and his dribbling comes to NOTHING . CR7 is an all round jack of all trades . The skill , the physical presence , the pace , thats what makes him better in my opinion. he has much more in his locker to deal with the opposition , than Messi.
tool , if you were here on matchday threads you would see LOTS of references to endless passing . Theres no irony in what you say , ever. apart from the sig that you gave everyone . THATS irony.
Actually its completely the opposite. Messi is basically a playmaker who happens to score 50+ goals a Season. He makes ALOT of goals, drops deep and is often in a midfield position putting other players through. He's an artist and for that reason will always be the footballing purists favourite. Ronaldo is all about pace and power. Running past players or shooting from distance. When they are in their 30's (injuries permitting of course) Messi will still be a BEAST as a number 10. (Much like a Zola/Zidane/Bergkamp) Ronaldo will be far less effective when his pace goes. Dont get me wrong though Ronaldo is one of the greatest ever. The growth hormone was for his height. They say he would have been 4 11' without it. But they don't effect him physically otherwise it doesn't make him stronger, faster than the average human. Besides he got it from the ages of 14-16. Also agree with SJW over the last year and a half and especially this season Ronaldo is the best player in the world, only player close to him is Ibrahimovic. Messi has been poor (by his own Ridonkulous standards that is.)
If i had to pick ONE top player for a team i was putting together and could ONLY choose one . I would have the Zlat . no question .
ffs , i said last week that Atletico would see that game as a bad result . The chavs get a goal , the bus will now be HUUUUUGE !
The Bus will have to come out of it's station now because they've got to score. I think Athletico have got more goals in them too. Should be a cracking second half
some chav on their board wondering why british fans are not supporting them in this campaign . While Maureen is there , most fans in this country will be saying , Arnie style , " fuck . you . asshole ! "
