Bayern and Pep to become the new arsenal and wenger? Pointless in every sense.

It's lovely to aspire to a beautiful fast paced passing game...as long as it results in goals, by all means take elements from it but it's rare to get a team together to do it every match ....fanaticism for any system is inflexible. You'll get found out eventually, especially if you keep insisting on it once it's clear your squad can't do it.

They need a proper CF. Maybe with Lewandowski they will actually do something at the end of all that possession. There's nobody who can make runs behind their defence. To be honest they rarely did it against United.

Tika taka is ****e and boring. Always has been always will ne.

Counter attacking football is without question the greatest form of the game. It is football.

Passing the ball with purpose is also good to watch. As long as you are always heading to goal and are not passing for the sake of it.

He won't be running in behind an awful lot though. He's a very good player, but to me is a similar type to Mandzukic,

That's overly harsh. They have won their league and they do always get past the last 16 of the CL.

Arsenal would bite your hand off, for that level of pointlessness (and so would Utd this season) :D

    They need a plan b.

This is why mourinho is the best. He adapts. Pep doesn't.

Adaptability is the key to everything in life. Those that adapt survive. Those that dont become arsene wenger mk2.

Yeh can't help thinking the same. Also he used to use the false number 9 at Barca and you used to have a wave of players including the AM's and wide players running behind defences. He has quality players at Bayern but none do that. I don't think it's the natural style of football for the likes of Mandzukic, Kroos and Ribery.

Bet get used to it. Now you have Giggs as your manager he is apparently "just like Guardiola" according to a player I don't think has ever played with or under him?

No its pointless. Even after all of Barcelona and Bayerns passing crap its a bit of magic that gets the goal. Every time basically.

Need 4 goals in the second half of the CL semi final to go through.

No fear, take off your CF and bring on a DM!

That's the problem with giving something a name...there's nothing wrong with the following:

    Fast short accurate passing
Intelligent movement off the ball so your always available.
High pressure pressing without the ball,

Used to just be called hard work by good players.

Declare an ideology and you chain yourself to it.

Even Countering attacking as you put it is a general label.putting 10 behind the ball and punting up to the big man the rare time you get the ball back could be called counterattacking....not pretty to watch either lol.

    Fluidity....

That's a bit harsh mate. Their pressing was brilliant and often an underlooked side to their wins. Even the pressing from this Bayern side is immense. He just needs a couple of players and I bet it will click. I think that's why he's brought on Martinez, bcos being from that part of the world he understands both the pressing and penetration side of the game.

It's pretty obvious his brand of football peaked in 2011 with his Barca team (and no amount of revisionist BS can rewrite them as not an outstanding team)

They were press, press, pass, pass, pass then dagger to to the heart. This is just slow and predictable (but still a lot better than Arsenal)

Trying it with this team/squad is sad to watch. Don't press it quick enough or move it quick enough when they have it to get close to what he achieved between 09-11.

Every single attack from Bayern ends with either:

    1) a cross (moyes-esque)
    2) pass to Robben to do something
