Malkey was the only one who knew what he was doing for gods sake and he bought some good players who could have done well for you if it was not for tans interference. Malkey was doing well and getting results and would have continued to get enough results to keep you up this season but there is no way he could work with tan sticking his nose in at every opportunity and sacking his staff because he had one of his sons mates who was a painter and decorator who wanted a job. Of course its tans fault and his fault alone because if he kept his nose out of malkey's business and let him run the playing side of it then there would have been no need of him leaving. Don't buy into this over spend rubbish as he knew what a player cost and had to approve all money that goes out of the club, malkey cant sign cheques as he dont have the authority to spend millions. No there is only one person who ****ed the season up and that is Vincent tan himself. the man is a moron and should not be in football.
you can say that because your team didn't play hoof ball and you have no idea how annoying it is to always be defending
Dai, stop talking bollocks. For all the good Malky McKay did for Cardiff I thank him, but he orchestrated his own dismissal after Moody was sacked. If you can't see that then you are very blinkered. Go back and read up on it. I said when we were promoted we'd struggle, I said the same when the season started given the outlay MM had and who he bought. Answer me this, would you have MM as your next manager?
Dai again that's a very linear way of thinking, to put all the blame on one variable. Tan isn't stupid and he would only make decisions that he feels are in the clubs best interest (his investment) Tans fault is his disregard towards the culture and heritage of the club, city, fans and the game. (Change of colour, badge, etc..,) it maybe down to being naive but I doubt it. Obviously Malkey can't sign the players but the amount of money being invested he didn't get the results expected. There is more to management than ideas on the pitch. Quote me if I'm wrong, didn't he go over budget on wages as well and that was the start of all the unrest leading to the dismissal of moody and eventually Malky? Tan is partly to blame but not for everything!
Taff it is you that is blinkered by buying into tan spin rubbish, I have talked to a lot of cardiff fans since he was sacked and they are not so gullible as you and say the same thing as im telling you. Malkey was a good manager and he would have done far better than OGS but that crap with moody was a smoke screen, Malkey was not going to put up with tans interference and rather than tan keeping his nose out of something he knew nothing about he wanted to sack him, Now you find that your season went pear shape as there was nobody at the club with the know how how to manage the players. Moody was an excuse conveniently used and we all know it,(he walked straight into a new job much to tans disgust) you got rid of a good player and now he is scoring for fun in fact you got rid of two players who are now scoring goals for fun at their new clubs. You will never get anywhere if you keep being taken in by crap chairmen and tan is the worst of the worst. He ruined your season and nobody else because he thought he knew best. God knows when you will ever get another chance as you wont be able to attract any manager who is good enough, Everyone thinks he's a joke and they are not wrong....
For God's sake Dai, everyone (even those on your own forum) thinks you're a joke and they are not wrong.
Dai you know sweet FA! All you know is gossip! People with half a brain know not to listen to gossip and only have opinions based around facts!
DaiSwan, You know very little all about Swansea and even less about Cardiff. Tan had no part of the transfers and left it in Malky's hands, when he found out what went on heads had to roll, his biggest mistake was giving malky more time.
Surely that would not be Malkey's fault, would he not have given a list of players he wanted then the club sort out all the paper work, someone had to sign off on the contract, and agree for the club to go over budget. Which is not Malkey's fault, but a fault within the club itself.
Is Lim one of Tan's people? (sorry don't know a great deal about CCFC staff) but it just seems to me that the transfer fee's and wage budget being the reason just doesn't add up to me.
Dai, I will try and be succinct. In a nutshell, MM had a budget for the year. He overspent the budget by around £15 million. Tan wasn't happy about it and spat the dummy. MM had full control of his budget which means he had the sign off to spend the money within budget. The accountants will have found this out after the fact. Accountants report the figures to management, they do not hold the purse strings of elected managers who have their budget. Moody was sacked, MM was probably on borrowed time from that point. An email to MM was leaked to the press saying Tan told him to resign or be sacked. MM stood his ground, Tan backed down, MM continued to talk to the press. He orchestrated his dismissal, it's there for anyone to see. Problem is the legal arguments will now take over and argue on "point of law" which in many ways has no bearing on real life situations. but hey-ho life goes on. Edit: before it gets lost in all your ravings, answer the question I asked, after reading up on the whole affair, would you have MM as your manager?
I wouldn't, not because of what he is supposed to have done, but for the fact I don't think he would be any good, or bring anything new to how we play. But I honestly believe he would have kept you up, thats my opinion, I think you made a mistake getting rid, and questions have to be asked as to why Tan allowed his manager free reign with transfer funds, seems a bit amateurish to me. I don't mean that as a sly dig, but if it was me in Tans' shoes, I wouldn't give the manager total control of transfers. Thats a bit stupid in my eyes.
Ah. the old blame game, nothing like it for getting the fans of our club to draw further apart than they already are. Perhaps some should have supported the team during the games instead of singing about wanting to be blue, might have helped but I doubt it to be honest. Judging some of the displays we have had to put up with over the season it has become clear to me that unrest within in the club has taken it's toll, an accumulation of events that we have failed to recover from. That isn't down to one person, everyone involved in choice making has to take blame. If OGS is given the coming season, with completely his setup, and does ok. perhaps we can then forget about comparing him to a previous manager, who in all fairness done a great job getting us up in the PL. I believe Tan was naive in thinking he could let other people do the job he was paying them to do, it might have worked in his other businesses but not in football. Malky was somehow hoodwinked into buying players at over the odds prices and wages, perhaps that was him being naive. Moody looks the snake in the grass to me, but it's just an opinion given the very little actual facts we know. We must prepare for next season, move on away from these kind of debates, we must start sticking together again, as fans should, agree to differ.
Lim is Tan's right hand man and is more slippery than a freshly buttered ice-rink. How that man survived the moodygate fiasco is unbelievable. I suppose he's an appropriate lap dog to a man who craves godlike status. You only need to watch the cringe worthy Tan birthday clip to see what people are dealing with.
I know I'm not a Cardiff fan but I totally agree with your post! As a manager/buyer by profession, if I had overspent in the manner MM did then I would expect dismissal. I'd class it as gross misconduct even! Malky also used his pals in the media to make himself look like the innocent party.
Many to blame - the owner , the managers and the players. Worse places to be relegated than the Championship. Remember going down to the dungeon up at Bury. Funny thing had a great day , sun was shining , police helicopters overhead, beer was flowing and a great atmosphere despite the drop. Tuesday night football and we will win more games than this year. Who knows maybe we will regain the Football League Championship. Employ a proven Championship manager and we will have a good season. Keep Ole and even though id back him I think we will struggle. I think Malky would have got us the 2 more wins needed. Its a poor PL and since Ole has come in weve been an unorganised shambles. Anyway time to look forward and bouncing back - and even if we dont still Championship Football. Look at the wurzels - League 1 mid table with JET one of our worst ever players as their best player.
