Cannock - As the years advance my memory fades. I thought I read a HR interview somewhere (don't ask me to find it) when he alluded to the small lad as having a further year on his contract after this season.

But... aren't you picking a player on their history rather than their form here?

In my opinion Redknapp has foolishly played Hughes at RB and even Right wing back on occasions.

If he had come straight in at CB and played the games then I think we'd all have seen his worth.

Long term neither are the answer, I just can't bear to watch any half decent forward with pace tear Hill apart time and time again.

Well obviously it can't be factually correct but how many times has he been motm this season? The Millwall highlights consisted of his dropping a cross and throwing the ball into his own net and not a shot saved.

I agree with your assessment if we were setting up for another season in the Championship, but not too many (Austin, Simpson, Onouha, Phillips, Hoilett, Barton, Green, Faurlin, Morrison - if we could sign him) would really be suitable to commence another campaign in the Premier League. SWP, the jovial gnome runing around in circles - put him on a tramp steamer to the New World?

When we signed him, the official site said he was out of contract this summer. I'm pretty sure its still there somewhere.

Wasn't there a suggestion that the reason he hasn't been selected was that it could trigger an extension?

You are having a laugh and judging him on one performance is rich as there in not one QPR player that have several poor performances this year and although I don't know for sure I expect there isn't a player ion the football league that hasn't had an off day.

I am not saying that he should be first choice, no doubt he will end up being though, but should be part of the squad. As QPAAAAAH says he has been a stalwart and a lynch pin for the past 4 years holding all these pre-madonnas togther and keeping his head while s*** has been flying in every direction. His experience will be invaluble over the next few seasons whatever part he is playing with the club.

I like your assesment with the exception of two players Hoilett can go I am fed up with his blind alley running and lack of a football brain.
I would KEEP O'Niel, I will probably be the only one here, however I think he could make a valued contribution as a squad player as I am sure people forget that he has played in numerous positions since arriving and for that reason would be useful.

There was and he came on as sub once after that, knowing our luck that was a trigger for a four year extension!

O'Neill has often been good without people noticing and he's almost always played out of his natural position. He's a good player who I'd keep.

I'd keep Hoilett too. He will come good in the right system and under good instruction.

Guys, these things happen. It doesn't matter too much. We might sell him, we could loan him or at worst could use him as backup. Hopefully we'll have a manager who knows bad players from good.

Yes, I see where you're coming from. We'd certainly need strengthening and the new recruits would doubtless push some of my "keeps" into being squad players.

All of which begs the question.........why doesn't 'Arry play him? At least he's a natural winger, unlike some of the makeshift wingers he's deployed this season.

I have found our team selections this season to be completely baffling.

What has gone here, there are loads of reports from the BBC and all the major papers stating he signed a 3 year contract... i guess one wrong brief can be repeated around the media but even transfermarkt.co.uk have him down as out of contract at the end of the season.

Please tell me the 59 mins of league football he has played in 2014 haven't triggered an extension clause, at £3m quid a year i reckon that works out at £50k a minute.

Lets just hope there is someone stupid enough to take him on and pay at least some of his wages, those MLS boys seem like the gullible sort.

I don't know what's happened, the signing report said three years the last time I looked a few months ago, that seems to be gone and the player page says its four years.

I wouldn't put it past you know who playing him few a few mins so Rosie could get a new lead and collar.

Only the us, middle east or turkey would take him even on a free.
