From Maltese Mick: So it looks like there will be some rubbish threads from not606 News which we need to put up with "for the good of the site" Post as you choose on these threads - earlier I closed one but will now re-open it as I do want to support not606 as much as possible
nonsense - we should not post on threads not606 put up. stick to our own. leo if you can close them do so. we are doing them a favour by being here.
2RJ that isn't entirely true... The site was costing Mick money for ages, plus he's invested a lot of time in it and still does. It doesn't cost you anything to be here, you don't even get adverts if you log in. This is just his attempt at getting the site some publicity, which will result in more fans being on here. I don't see how we're doing him a favour?
toby its a business - someone makes money - thats the game All businesses have start up costs. if someone starts "anothernot 606" we could alll walk anyway. stay clear of these false threads young man............
True but what does it cost us? I understand your concern that it's a business for Mick, and he needs us to stay here. But as a programmer I'm happy to help him with the project he started, Mick's a nice guy and I like the idea of helping people's small projects online.
these sites dont cost the posters anything. Branson is a nice guy but i still pay £90 a month for his services including this.
I don't see how they're linked apart from you need an internet connection... To transpose it to real life it would be like all of us going to hang out in a pub and not spending any money, the landlord being fine with that but when he asked us for anything like mentioning it to our friends/neighbours you would disagree saying 'well we could go to another pub and not spend any money there too'.
Look - if the site owners want to do this I am not going to get in their way. All anyone who objects has to do is to not post here if they object to it.
Maltese Mick : So get posting good threads. In fact if some of our "journalisticy types" can write good articles then please do so. Quite a few of our threads start with one line and a link to a website - if we had more where people actually set out their opinions it would not only help Mick but also make for good threads for us
As Leo says, you only post on the things that you want to have a say on. I don't have an opinion on everything, so keep my thoughts to myself. Well most of the time.

This would be a good python sketch. ive read this a couple of time and i dont think i get your point..................
No I've had a long day and I can't explain myself very well. What I was trying to say is this place doesn't cost us anything, and I don't see why we shouldn't assist the site in growing. If you have issues with Mick making any money out of this venture then fine, I just think he deserves some form of reward for having hosted this site for years at his expense (with all the other associated costs). No problem if you disagree
I agree completely with tworossjenkins. Bit of a shame if these rubbish "news" threads are going to start clogging up the boards. I prefer quality over quantity.
The way the site is designed if a thread is not replied to then it goes down the list quite quickly. You don't have to answer them, just make a new one discussing the same thing.
