Never thought I'd say this but he is a realistic option for us.
He will tick all the boxes for Ashley and at least he will connect with the fans and understand our frustration.
He's done a decent job at Hull and wouldn't struggle to motivate the team one bit.
There we have it... I've said it..... Bruce IN.
    Dark times indeed.

Won't happen. Mike wouldn't want somebody who would compete with him at the 'all-you-eat-buffet'.

I'd even take Shola over Pardew.

I would happily go for Bruce. I've always admired him as a manager and he's done well at Hull.

I can see it now, a few years down the line after being hired and fired, Bruce still using every press conference to tell the world that he should still be manager of Newcastle but because he managed us, was never accepted.

Bruce is decent provided he is the sole decision maker but this job isn't for him, he wouldn't try to bleed through the best youths nor would I expect him to provide the club with a fluent passing game.

He's good for Birmingham or Hull but not here.

Bruce is a decent manager, of what he's got, usually when it comes to spending he ****s up, but he's also signed a few crackers amongst the **** like. Dugarry was sublime!

    Not really better than Pardew

My first reaction is to vomit.

On calm reflection, however, I still want to vomit.

Bruce has had a successful season by Hull's standards and would be up for it, whereas I could see someone like Moyes being psychologically unready for the demands of the job here. Just because he's been Sunderland manager is not a valid reason for rejecting him out of hand.

We're in a really awful situation as a club in terms of motivation, work ethic and dressing room atmosphere, that much is clear. He's not my ideal manager going into the future, but I'd give him a year to see what he could do and for the sake of getting rid of Pardew.

Not really a choice as far as I am concerned. Though that said he might put some spine into the players - hopefully by kicking them all up the arse! After all something has to be done to that lackluster lot (and it's not looking like we are going to have a major clearout and rebuild).

Have you actually watched us play? Aluko's goal at St. James' Park was a perfect example of the flowing football we can play. Bruce doesn't have a rigid playing style, he adapts to the game and the players available. For the second half of the season we haven't had Aluko or Brady so we have had to change how we play slightly but we are not a long ball team whatsoever. Obviously I don't want Bruce to go but I think he would be great for you just as he has been great for us. Never has our team had such strong chemistry, all the lads work hard for each other and are actually mates outside the club, that is something that Bruce brings which it seems you seriously lack.
