In a season of pitiful performances, pillow biting displays, plastic revolutions , and pansies on a power trip, few have come out of this season with any credit. However, our youngsters are looking good, We have done something very right with our under 18 squads and I am wondering for those that are in the know, who should take credit for the successes of our yoof team set ups? Was that a boardroom success? A coaching master class or just good fortune? A final congratulations should go to the many thousands of cafc fans who are the unheard, those that don't care who the manager is, or in the Boardroom, or joining a trust, but spend their money, week in week out on what has been largely a load of dross. They are the real heroes this season and they will be back again next. I hope cafc give them something in return.
The fans, Lawrie Wilson, Diego Poyet, Cousins And an honourary mention to Bolton who managed to shift us Sordell all season Edit - And Dervite, for becoming a CB this season in my eyes, before never rated him as one but he is the stronger out of him and Morro now
For the under 18s the praise should go to Steve Avory, Paul Hart and the Academy staff and scouts. Watching the yoof this Season has been a more edifying experience than watching the dross that the first team have served up. I fully expect us to lose the remaining two matches, but stay up after Doncaster lose to Leicester. I am glad this Season is nearly over. But hope springs eternal so Prostate not withstanding I will be there for the 2014/2015 promotion push.
I am sure you will dick. Been a pleasure reading some of your and some of the others posts on here. Charlton my favourite other team.
Big thanks to the referee who called off the Doncaster game! And to everyone on here for some free Group Therapy
Everyone on here for some lively debate the posts have reflected the teams troubled this season. A lot of different opinions laughter anger fun it's been quite a trip since August but we are all here and want one thing success for the team. From the Powell apologist (Me) to the Powell out posse. Let's hope we can get the result tonight that we all want. Despite our differences or not as the case may be I like reading and contributing to every ones posts .
Heroes of the seaon: 1. The puddles at the Doncaster game. They could end up keeping us in this division if Donny win on Saturday, and we lose. 2. Paul Hart and Steve Avory, for providing a constant stream of talented, home grown players. God knows where we would be without them. Probably bottom. 3. RD. For carrying out the Charlton equivalent of shooting Bambi, and dispensing with the services of Chris Powell. 4. The 5,200 Charlton fans who travelled to Sheff Utd, where we witnessed one of the most pathetic performances for many a moon. 5. Diego Poyet. Great player. Villians: 1. Richard Murray. Again. Not only for a series of terrible, putrid decisions which brought the club to its knees, but for having the cheek to hang around for his slice back, when we have all lost ours because of him. 2. The group of fans who turned Charlton into a footballing version of Match.com with their unctuous, glutinous devotion to Chris Powell. 3. Whoever gave all of my threads One Star 4. The **** players. Too many to name, but Church, Sordell and the Six Musketeers come to mind. Get rid.
And Millwall for allowing you to poach the customary point this season The ref for calling off the Doncaster game when you were 3-0 down as it would be a completely different scenario now!!
