I mean it sounds like a bit of a stretch. What interest would Cortese have in dismantling his late friend's baby?

Just like last week's Shaw story.

 

I suspect Lallana wants anything but a move elsewhere, but he'll understandably leap if he doesn't see the required ambition from Saints. This is going to be a big summer.

 

Lallana & Shaw stories must earn them plenty of website hits for them to keep going. Is Lallana's groin injury true?

 

Henry Winter of The Telegraph says Brendan Rodgers has identified Lallana as a key target for Liverpool this summer.

Just stepping aside from my usual happy clappy self.

Shaw and Lallana leaving in the summer for me pretty much equals MP leaving. He's had the rug pulled out from under his feet at Espanyol, he's not going to let it happen again, I sure as well wouldn't if I was in his position. You then have Schneiderlin who has made his feelings of playing under MP/investment in squad pretty clear, so I reckon he'd be off too. We will also be starting the new season without the services of JRod and can't really count on him coming back all guns blazing after that much time out.

That's a hell of a rebuilding job to pull off in a WC summer, particularly for an inexperienced board.

 

Let's not get carried away.

 

He'd be an idiot if he didn't see Lallana as a key player. I can see Lallana as a key player and I'll do it for free. Lallana could be a key player for Liverpool, Real Madrid, Southampton or Grimsby Town. It's not magic.

 

Maybe not Real Madrid. I like Lallana, but Ronaldo, Bale and Isco he ain't.

 

Still no bids, that is the fact. All this **** is fiction until proven.

 

Not that it is transfer window season, but what bids are we rumoured to be putting in..?

If you believe, as I do, that we have a very tight knit club, with Board, manager and squad united in a common vision, then I think not. The responses of the players and manager have tended to come through official channels. I see no evidence of the anyone briefing the press about how they want to move on ( remember how Oxo was agitating?). All the quotes about the opportunities at the club, the Reed statement, the batting away of questions with "we'll sit down in the summer", it all looks to me like a concerted effort to manage the media frenzy. I am relaxed about all this. All the speculation is about managers of other top clubs wanting our players. Maybe, but they ain't for sale!
Now, if you will excuse me, I have to slip these sandals off and get to work

 

Hope you are right Channon but it wont stop the scare stories.
