Shaw 30 million and Hunmels 30 million. That leaves us with another 140m to play with. Evans will still be with us, and whilst some may laugh, he has been involved in many title winning sides. He played most of last season with Vidic and Rio taking it in turns to play alongside him. Jones and Smalling are both still very promising prospects, Jones in particular just needs a run in the team playing in the same position, rather than 1 week in midfield, 1 week right back, and the next centre half. Not forgetting that his defensive partners change every game. He will do well in a settled position with the same partner, as he has all the talent
On the Rio Ferdinand front, he can **** off , we don't need that old has been anymore, he offers very little, other than problems off the field. His twitter posts where a disgrace when Moyes was there. Wether Moyes was bad or not, you back the manager, and Rio along with a few others didn't
Your club haven't officially said how much the new man will get to spend, when you take into account that any 'top class' signing from abroad will want parity with Rooney's wages and Mata and RvP will want to renegotiate their piece of the money cake can you honestly see the Glazers spending the kind of money overall that you expect knowing their previous spending record? LVG will concentrate on his county's world cup campaign and won't chance trying to do both jobs at once because he knows if Holland exit early on in Brazil hell be looked upon as someone who put a foreign club before his home nation.
We are a cash cow to the Glazers, and us being out of the CL is a threat to that. So the Glazers know they need to reinvest heavily to make sure they get us back there, so they can keep taking in the money. They are smart business men at the end of the day. Louis Van Gaal is a smart guy, he knows his football and he knows who the best players out there are , that are available. I'm sure they have already talked about transfer targets with him, and Ed Woodward and maybe SAF, who was spotted with Reus and Kroos's agent will be sorting all the transfers out, whilst Van Gaal is at the WC
Yeah I saw the agents with Fergie, but I still can't see the Glazers not including the prospective new signings massive salaries as part of the warchest, consider the wages alone for maybe 6 players on around 300k per week, when next season starts the Glazers are already -70m down because of servicing the debt add the lost revenue from no CL, if anything it might force the greedy ****s to sell out, but not everyone has the kind of money they'd want.
Possibly who knows, though I don't think the wages will be that high when you consider the players who will be leaving this summer Vidic, Rio and Evra, all must be on like 150k each. We may also offload a few other players who are on decent money, there is a lot of rubbish in our squad that needs shipping out
What a strange way of thinking. The Glazers are not going to reinvest heavily in United. You still owe them a fortune so why would they do that? Being smart business people is debatable but for the sake of an argument let's say they are. Why should the spend anything above whatever they normally allow? So you are not in the CL so what? They have the benefit of the commercial contracts that you already have so that income is guaranteed for the next 4/5 years. They will have seen how FSG have grown Liverpool's commercial income whilst not being in Europe at all! So there's no pressing financial need for the Glazers to spend a fortune. Then you have the whole question of FFP to consider. On top of that you have to consider the Glazers own position. The old dynasty is coming to an end and it appears that the family vultures are circling. When it comes to family fights then money ie sale counts for more than long term investment - and there's nothing United can do to stop those games going on. So don't be surprised if your warchest consists of say £40-50 million + whatever you can recover from sales of players.
Fergie did it for years, hang back keep the ball, make to opposition work, in the last 10mins when they are starting to tire and happy to cling to a draw go all out.
Not just fergie. Go back through time and all top sides seemed to have a reputation for scoring late, 'lucky' goals in tight games. As has been said, you've got to wear them out, but we didn't come close to that on Sunday.
Theres no real difference between Mourinhos teams and Pulis/Big Sam teams. The only difference is that Mourinho has world-class players to carry out this task better and much more deadlier. As a Manchester United supporter I feel the media lauding Mourinho as a master tactician is silly because Mourinho is not a revolutionary manager like Guardiola/Michels/Cruyff/Sacchi. Mourinhos tactics (with world class players) are simply what lower league teams would employ when against vastly superior teams The only way to beat teams like Mourinhos is very fast and direct football. I remember Manchester United of Beckham, Giggs, Scholes, Keane with Yorke and Cole upfront - The pace and speed and the wonderful crosses of Beckham/Neville would really make sure any defensive team would have absolutely no respite and would crumble under the avalanche. The problem is there are players who can hardly bloody cross the ball even as half as well as Beckham/Neville and that goes for the Man Utd team as well as Liverpool and others
Rio is a legend. No ****ing way would I take moyes side over rios. Rio can stay purely on helping get shut of the useless ****. The guys a united legend. Should we **** Giggs off as well? The ring leader of it all?
