Wonder what the punishment will be? Slap on the wrist...?

Obviously not going to be kicked out of Europe. A fine... A couple of million maybe?

Wont even be that. It'll be nothing or a polite "Don't do it again"

At the most a paltry fine that means nothing to these two clubs as they are already able to afford to lose huge sums of money without batting an eye.

He has already said they won't be kicked out of Europe. In my opinion, we should spend lots this summer to make sure we stay where we are. The worst that can happen is a fine.

Whilst UEFA have declared that nobody will be excluded from European competition based upon the present review, the full range of other sanctions remain open. Now UEFA, their financial committee and the auditors that they use to do the reviews will have learnt a lot from this process. They may therefore limit the the extent of any penalties resulting from this round. However, as they have already put aside the maximum penalty they may wish to signal to all clubs that they do have teeth and that the FFP regulations are not to be treated lightly. We will find out when the decisions are published.

Whatever does happen all clubs are now well aware that their actions will be scrutinised and they will have to arrange their spending accordingly. Therefore the first objective of FFP will have been achieved no matter what penalties are handed-out. But if they are soft this time, it is highly likely that they will be far harsher after the next round - which will include Liverpool!

If they fine a club £5 mil or so, will it be counted amongst the losses for this season?

No. For accounting purposes it will be counted as a cost of doing business but the accountants amongst us can confirm or deny that. But it would be funny if it was.

    This.

Correct me if I'm wrong(I usually am)but the season we're in **** street for was the season H&G were ousted and FSG took over?

If so how can clubs that make bogus partnerships and naming rights with companies associated with them recieve less punishment than a club brought to its knees by two shyster's and trying to stave off bankruptcy and a court battle over ownership and the paying off of debts accrued in a season that ffp didn't include(2009-10)?

    So if it was read like this;

A body will send an offer to the less than 20 clubs of a sanction

The club can then negotiate with the body in question as to what to do

So say a club like oh Salzburg who I picked at random break the rules and can't afford a 5 mil fine they could offer to be suspended or whatever for a year

So in short if a poorer club breaks the rules you can be thrown out but rich clubs overspending can spend even more buying their way out

Sounds like normal court. Poor guy has to serve jail while the rich guy can pay his way out of it (and pay for secrecy while he's at it).

Page, don't take this as chapter and verse but the costs of buying and stabilising a club that has high levels of debt fall outside of the FFP regulations even though they appear on the financial reports (Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss) as losses.

Further operating losses reported prior to the initiating season 09/10 are not taken into account.

As for City and PSG, they have created some fairly exotic structure in an attempt to circumvent the regulations. It is highly likely that part of the 'negotiations' with both clubs will be an explanation from UEFA to both clubs how such arrangements will be interpreted and the likely outcomes when the next round of reviews take place.

I'm with you on that Dave but the season prior to ffp kicking in is what caused us to be outside the rules the when it did kick in and the fact we can't ask for leniency when we obviously never cheated unlike certain other clubs named today is wrong.

As I understand it any accounting loses reported up to and including 09/10 are deemed not to exist as far as FFP is concerned.

  17. That was my understanding too. I believe 2010-11 was the first season to be included?
