I'm pretty sure Hamilton's destroyed Rosberg psychologically. Which is a great shame. Still don't think anyone else will have the pace to touch them.
You are probably right, Bahrain showed that clearly. But Rosberg has one mighty weapon on his side. Time.
What's surprising is Vettel has only won here once and Hamilton hasn't even managed that. Is the aero and the mechanical grip of the Red Bull better than Mercedes or is it just because the Merc engine is far superior to to the Renault engine that they are so far in front?
Hamilton will break his duck here (unless his car fails on him or Rosberg gets out of his own way!) could be another comfortable stroll in the park for Hamilton. After that, if Ferrari continue to improve, the final spot the on podium could be between Alonso and the Redbulls. McLaren will most prob. complain that this time the track was too warm and over heated their tyres, they've become the "Godilocks" of the F1 grid! FI could be a dark horse here and I wouldn't rule out the Williams as well.
This could be the track+weather combination Williams have been looking for. Mclaren are out of the race at the moment, just fighting for points. Force India are a surprising bunch! Would look out for them. Ferrari are supposed to be bringing a massive amount of updates.
Nice one Manny Going to go for Hamilton again, though do hope the others are catching up. Williams threw a massive surprise here in 2012, no reason why they or another team might not do it again. So many lining up should Mercedes drop the ball at any point.
Without trying the Mercs were 1 second a lap quicker than anyone else, these updates will have to be something major even to claw back 2 tenths... If they wanted to, the Mercs could be 2 second a lap quicker than all the rest and this is without using any of their latest updates too, this season is a write off for most teams, not that they'll admit it. And even if they do catch up to the Mercs this year, it will most likely be too late, they're already nearly 100pts clear in the WCC
If the next seasons cars are evolutions, teams will be hoping to start to catch up. For this season the title is over, we all know that. So it's probably realistic to look to 2015/2016.
If teams turn attention to next year early then Mercedes will too if they have a massive lead in both championships. As for this race, I think Red Bull will close the gap, Ferrari will make another improvement and Mclaren will make progress. If Red Bull still have slow straight line speed then they will have big struggles again.
Fk it I'll gamble on Red Bull and Renaults upgrade to be massive and Vettel sorting out the brake by wire issue. This is where they said their season will start after sorting so much **** out.
Despite how Amazing the Mercedes is looking they still hurt their rear tyres and this is a track that likes to eat up rear tyres! I'm not saying Mercedes will struggle so to say but they may not be so dominant in Spain. I hope they are forced to 3 stop whilst the others 2 stop, but with such a pace advantage they can take it easy on their tyres and still be the fastest out there. I expect Rosberg to fight back this weekend, but I fear he may try to hard and suffer more on the tyres than Hamilton, thus gifting Hamilton the win. I'm not sure who to vote for but I'm thinking Rosberg will be quickest, yet not win the race.
Mercedes are hard on rear tyres but Hamilton was out longer than most during his first stint on soft tyres in the last race and generally he has been better than Rosberg on tyres even though Rosberg was said to be much easier on tyres than Hamilton. Anyway I am going again with Alonso for a podium like I did before last race. They are coming with massive upgrades and I am sure he will fight for that podium spot. If Hamilton hits that first corner in front then by the time he gets back on that long straight the only time they will see him again is on the pit stop or after the race.
but this track has straights and a twisty chicane leading onto the main one which the Mercedes will be better at as well.
This is another circuit Lewis hasn't won on, even though Mercedes got a 1-2 for the front row, it was Nico who had pole. Hopefully the tires will last better than the shambles of a race last season.
