So that penalty decision, how the **** can you play an advantage to allow the goalscoring opportunity to still take place, and then give a red card for denying a goalscoring opportunity? It clearly wasn't denied! I'm sure refs now just give a red card for every foul in the box without thinking of the logic or reason for doing it. Why did Cala deserve to be sent off? It's a ****ing stupid interpretation of an ambiguous rule. And this idea that you can choose where you were fouled is equally stupid. He pulled him back about 4 yards outside the area. He wasn't even fully in the box when the contact stopped. I know it's apparently a proper rule but it's a very stupid one. Fair play to Wickham who didn't play for a penalty at all, just tried to score and seemed to have accepted it when he failed to. There's no way they should have had a second bite at it though. These decisions where a penalty and red card are both given are just ridiculous. It completely kills the game especially when you're allowed to play it on before getting the decision, so it clearly isn't denying a goalscoring opportunity. It's strikingly similar to McGregor's at West Ham.
