A thread is quite fortunate really. When we used to talk about the NFL in here people got sulky (which is fair enough) and we were banished to the subforum and have had to try quite hard to make it semi-active. With this in mind, why not suggest Tom and others go to one of the three cricket subforums on here :)

I wish we could just get to the point where white people don't make racist remarks about black people and that black people don't retaliate with more racism (albeit Guly's comments are obviously less racist than what the banana thrower did). I don't give a **** what colour someone's skin is, why does it even matter?! South Africa shows that not all racism is towards black people.

Isn't there an entire cricket board? I'm not hugely fussed about seeing cricket talk on here, but it rarely even seems to meet the definition of conversation. It tends to just be intermittent updates of what the score is. I know not everyone is interested in GoT conversation but it's only on Mondays for ten weeks of the year (and we have actual conversations about it). We're bombarded with cricket all summer. Imagine if we tried to do all our football chat on one thread. It'd be silly.

The Green Party broadcast has got a lot of coverage, and here it is...

I would object if I was moved next to unaccompanied children...I'm not their minder. Any man moved should thank the Lord.

I might start an F1 thread where GBS and I can sit alone, gently rocking whilst whispering comforting noises to one another....

We had one or two last year. If you don't want a separate Cricket thread then don't start one. All I am suggesting is that anyone who would like to start one about now will not need to seek mod approval, in my opinion. I know that since I posted my comment, fellow mods or admin haven't given me a hard time. Door's open, as far as I can see.

I realise that Dani Alves probably did his gesture as a split-second response, but it was almost the perfect thing to do. Guly and Dejan are just adding their support, but the initial act by the player to minimise the impact was superb. Throwing a banana was that pathetic that the player looked at it, considered it for ripeness and then eat a piece to sustain his energy.

As we know, bananas are a perfect food. Wish I could eat them. I love the flavour of a good banana, but they give me enough indigestion to power a city. :)
