If you're a sad old t*** like me, you may have noticed that British Pathe News have recently made available thousands of more videos on You Tube. There are now over 80,000 videos available, normally about 2-3 minutes. So much history if it interests you, whether its football or general life going back to Victorian times. The attached video is of Newcastle City Centre in 1931.

Fitting a few Gateshead games in now. They played a good game at the International Stadium recently and I was quite impressed with some of their players. I might even go to Blundell Park on Thursday. A 2-0 win over Cambridge United in front of 2,916 fans at the International Stadium on Saturday evening confirmed that Gateshead will advance to this season's promotion playoffs, after finishing third in the Conference. The Tynesiders face a two-legged semi-final tie against Grimsby Town to determine which side faces the winners of the Cambridge versus Halifax semi-final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday May 18th. Gateshead now travel to Blundell Park on Thursday for a 7.45pm kickoff, before facing the Mariners at home on Sunday May 4th at 4.30pm in an all ticket fixture. These can be purchased from the International Stadium every weekday between 10am and 8pm and from 10am on both Saturday and Sunday more details online here
