we dont win the title this year all i can say is that i am very proud of what lfc have achieved this season, considering where we have been in the last few years.
hopefully a good summer transfer window will help us get in some class players and help us secure trophies next season. the future looks BRIGHT.

The only thing that will be gutting is if we drop points in the last 2 games and so do City

Bad luck or an off day will always happen but we can still put ourselves in the best possible position

Title this year would have just been awesome, really moving and inspiring due to the circumstances in which it could've been won. To be robbed of that by ****ing negative Chavs is just :steam:

Just feeling absolutely deflated right now fella, gutted. How did we not beat the Chavs... at home?! (rhetorical question that one) Feel like I'm in mourning tbh! ****ing sprinklers. ****ing Chavs. ****ing anti-****ing-football Mourinho. Personally think it's done. Citeh will win it again and all those who try to believe that there's some integrity left in this world to triumph over ****ing finances and throwing money around will once again be proved wrong.

We need to win it this year. Chelsea will improve up front, United could easily be back in the mix, it'll be a lot harder next year.

This game just shows how vital a good Squad is. We have a great XI, but its weak past that. We could be there in a couple of years, but we still have an opportunity. Let's hope City **** up.

I can't. Now, or not for forseable future. Chelsea should be better if it wern't for Mourinho's complete lack of intelligence in transfers/loaning players. City should be better period.

We're catching the two big money spinners in an off year. They will be much better in foreseeable future. I suspect United will be a bit better next year too... Good news is, I suspect Arsenal and Spurs are not going to be serious contenders for top 4 in the near future- so we should still have Champions League.

A win will make us a very attractive transfer destination- give us an edge over big money City and Chelsea during this summer. (and future summers). But if we don't win now- it may be another 24 years before our next title.

I'm still optimistic for this season though. City is not consistently good. They can drop points.

I tend to agree with this other than your last sentence. Think it really is now or never (or not for a good few years)... we're not going to invest gazillions into the team/squad like Citeh have and Utd will be back with a vengeance next year, you know they will now. Can see Arsenal still challenging for their usual top four trophy, Spurs not so much.

Well with you so called realists surrounding me I might even consider supporting Everton!

Chelsea strengthened last Summer and January and are still 2 points behind us! City spent loads too and are neck and neck with us. The others are so far behind us that they don't count. OK so they'll spend again this Summer but so will we and this time we do have CL football to offer! So you can stick your "this is the only chance" where the sun doesn't shine.

    WE ARE LIVERPOOL

THE BEST FOOTBALL TEAM IN THE WORLD - YES WE ARE!

We've proved that with skill and heart we can go all the way. With strengthening and a bit more quality there's no reason why we can't do it all again next season. I do know that we should not settle for being the new Arsenal.

  13. 100% with you here! (didn't expect that did you)

The past tense stuff is really grating me. People seem to have thrown in the towel despite us still being top with two to go. Despite beating us today, Chelsea can't finish above us if we win both. Man City need to win all three. We go again!

This is why I am surprised at the way we played. We needed a single point ( I.e a draw). If that had happened we would have had control of the title destination in our hands AND have Chelsea out of the equation. Why is it then did we have us attacking like mad in the first half and Chelsea wasting time? Has someone missed a trick or have I got this wrong?

the thing that helps us is that the big spenders will have to adhere to ffp next season or risk being thrown out of the champions league, manure need 4 world class player to even consider regaining a top 4 spot and which top class player would want to join a team that will finish 7th with no champions league on offer thats why we struggled when we couldnt get mikihatran, and costa they wanted champions league football!.
chavski will sell there most promising youngsters i.e lakaku, bertrand who can actually help their plight alaa sturridge etc to raise funds for deigo costa who will flop, every striker who joins them always does because there team simply doesnt provide the chances a striker needs to score goals, there old guard will also leave for a final payday.
city will probs add 1 or 2 cant see them making any major signings they might even get weaker as real madrid may come in for aguero who even if he stays is a injury prone player along with silva without those two city will suffer losses.
we can attract the more promising younger players iturbe, isco, firminho, draxler, gabigol to name a few because they know that if there good enough rodgers will give them a chance.
we play the most attractive football in england and players who have flair and skill will always want join a team that suits there play.

Not all of what nazby posted is off the wall. Whilst Liverpool are unlikely to splash out on £40+ million players, we are in a good position to attract quality younger players who have/are about to make a name for themselves. Just to repeat the common thinking "and we can offer CL".

City and Chelsea have almost made a rod for their own backs by splashing the cash. Anybody going to either of those clubs will be demanding a premium. But the higher the fee, the higher the expectation. I'll leave United's problems to one side but I strongly doubt that you will solve your problems in one season. That leaves Arsenal and Spurs. If Wenger stays for another season then I don't see them changing their spending habits. Spurs have a similar rpoblem to United as a new manager is likely to want to sweep clean.
