A further swing of four goals today, making it now 8. Assuming City get another 6 in their remaining three games (it may be more) that'll mean us getting FOURTEEN goals in two games. Just not going to happen, is it?
No but our little sisters will want to help us out by taking points off them Martinez has a brilliant record at little cubs V's the big boys
There's been some right miserable batards on here since our game. I guess it was to be expecting since we know how our board loves a over reaction but still, proper miserable batards considering we are top of the league with two games to go and already in the group stages of next seasons CL! I'm more than willing to face the music on here after a draw or loss, hell I even argue with our own fans who want to see the likes of Tobes or UIR banned for wumming despite it being predictable considering the result. What I can't stand is the fickleness; "we've won so we're the best" to "oh no we drop points so we're doomed" attitude in a blink of the eye. The negative posters can't wait to suddenly start posting every few seconds because we've slipped up. As I said, we are top of the league with two games to go and already in the group stages of next seasons CL! All after most wrote us off even getting fifth...FIFTH!!! #meltdown
Gerrez, It's not about where we thought we'd finish at the start of the season. It's disappointment at the fact we had the title in our hands with 3 games to go and we've let it slip & given Man City the momentum & advantage. We need an unlikely slip up from City to win the title now and everyone feels our best chance to win a title in 24 years has gone. People being annoyed & pessimistic after that is understandable.
many years ago my old man taught me a very valuable lesson. Liverpool lost an FA Cup semi to Nottingham Forrest. A bit like today we battered them but they got a breakaway and scored! I was in tears and turned to him for some comfort. What he said surprised me. He said "If you enjoy the victories then you have to learn to accept the defeats". OK most of us are upset but you've got to get over it. It's not as if it's even all over! Today I lost my personal dream. I really wanted to see Newcastle form a guard of honour. I haven't seen that for over 20years. That was my dream and it hurts to lose it but I'm a Redman so my job is now to get behind my team again. So, we've had a brilliant season and it's not over yet. COYR
When did we lose a semi to forest? We lost an league Cup final replay in those circumstances, but not a semi that I can remember. But anyway chaps, I'm crying to stop laughing, if that make sense. Comic tears hide the real tears, etc. I expect we'll get second now, but if we don't win both games left and push City to the line I will be ****ing furious.
They play an everton that's practically given up on fourth, a Villa team in freefall but likely to be safe, and a west ham team that are safe but can't buy a win. And they're managed by fat Sam. The only way they'll drop points is if they get a man sent off early doors in one of those games, but that didn't stop them against Hull. But we must win both games and hope for the best now, and at least get second.
I can understand what you are saying. It's just that we still have a chance so we have to keep going. Plus we've had a brilliant season and nobody said we would win the league (even me). BTW I got it wrong it was Leicester in 1963.
Big Sam loves playing against the big teams, he always sees it as a change to prove himself. I would say Everton and West Ham are difficult games, that though odds on wins for City are potential slip ups. And to score 14 goals in two games? Why not we already have 96.
I still have you as at least joint favourites. City still have to win their game in hand even to be level and have a harder last away game (Everton to your Palace). Not a case of miracles at all. Just City not winning all 3. Us winning the title this year would be closer to a miracle!!
I was speaking to my eldest daughter before the match. She's 24. I was telling her how nervous I was and that the last time we won it, she wasn't even on the planet. Feeling pretty down today
My lad is 24 and was a baby in my arms when we last lifted the title. He was understandably low after yesterday, But we need to re-group and remind ourselves we are very much still in this.BR will fire them up for a final push
If Everton win and we could well drop more points, then it doesn't seem that much of a miracle, not after yesterday's result
Chelsea can only win the title if both Liverpool and City lose a game, as Chelseas goal difference isn't as good as the other 2. I could see City losing the Everyon game, though you'd still make them favourites. Crystal Palace is a tricky game away from home for Liverpool, but I can't see Crystal Palace winning, the most I can see Palace getting is a draw. City will win there 2 other games at home comfortably, and Liverpool will easily beat Newcastle at Anfield. Newcastle have been in free fall since they lost Cabaye. So I'd say Chelsea would need a minor miracle to pull it off, it is definitely a 2 horse race IMO. I think the Everton City game will decide the title. If City win that it's all over
