What a great story and just the sort of 'human interest' aspect that Sir Bobby would have loved. It really doesn't take much to do the decent thing in life from time to time and the rewards all round can be so gratifying. Whoever Camilla is she deserves a hearty well done for keeping the ITFC spirit alive and well. Shame Bullard couldn't have made it 4 v 3 though!!! Every silver lining has a cloud I suppose
I am considering sending Camilla a letter to thank her for making me proud to be a blue! I think it's a general Ipswich thing, not just the club. It's hard to even get someone to return your phone call when they say they will up here in Yorkshire! I have been considering a move back to the homeland for some time and this is just a reminder of what I'm missing!
Agree with all that has been said above, really great to see our club respond liike this. And Lancs, your idea to send something off to Camilla is a fine one and perhaps can be sent from us collectively?
And perhaps we could invite her to contribute to the "Where are all the Women?" thread at the same time! She'd be most welcome. Is there an 'Honary Member' status!?
Zoomba! May I add to the positive sentiments regarding Camilla. A fine lady and I am so pleased that the great work she does behind the scenes at Town is finally being acknowledged. It would be a great idea if we can all find a way of recognising her unstinting work at Town. Come on Hampy your the shop steward get something organised maybe an e card or even a bouquet! I'd be happy to stump up some cash!
What a great story to read. Camilla is top class, she takes a lot of things on herself even to the point of sending e-mails to unhappy fans. I complained last year to the customer service department about how Ipswich Player kept messing up the live match service only to receive an e-mail from Camilla's e-mail account expressing sincere apologies. I saved her address in my contacts so I could e-mail her when I want to get my son to be a mascot next time I'm in England. Well done Camilla, have a
A bouquet from all of us collectively sounds like a great idea. If we could get 20 of us to donate just 2 quid each that would do the trick and if we got more it could just be more luxurious.
Well I think let's look at the interest - if we have it then trusted members only can PM me their email address and either do a bank transfer of what ever they want to donate into my account or stick 2 pound coins to a piece of card or put a fiver in an envelope or whatever and post it to me. Then I order online a bouquet that we all agree on with the fund.
Paypal take a cut then. There's not too much anyone can do with only my address / or bank sort and a/c number except put money in. I would not provide both to anyone.
Count me in Hamps its a great idea and I'm sure she would be a bit surprised but touched by this genuine gesture! One Camilla Haycock! There's only one Camilla Haycock!
