On a serious note, does Hampy have relationship issues ? I am just a little concerned because nobody appears to like him.
In terms of individuals perhaps not the best but in terms of organisation and doing the basics right I struggle to remember a defence that is so solid and reliable, perhaps this is in part down to how previous regimes have had a sligtly more attacking mantra but I still think we could attack more with this team and i would be one of the best defensively I've seen. As an Ipswich Town fan I can never remember a time when I've thought we were good at defending and now I do.
Cor you keep changing your mind on poor Cressy, one week you'll accept £2million for him the next week it's no more than £8 million. Can I put this to you....Do you agree with Mick that he's the best LB in the league??
Nothing wrong with Hampy, he is a top bloke, he is just unable to get his head around the fact that MM is turning our club around in a fairly unattractive way.
We could've snuck into the play offs with this squad if it wasn't for some terrible decisions and setting up of the team badly in recent weeks which has cost us dear, not least persisting with Nouble and the defensive howler, one of many, vs Burnley. Defensively we have not been doing the basics and have given way too much away (not just down to the back four, also down to the balance of the side and protection from the midfield) - we've got away with a lot but it's also cost us vital points and been the difference between scraping in and as it has turned out, not.
You could also turn it on its head..... The squad is so small & full of pretty average players, with different manager in charge we could have also been battling away at the wrong end of the table..
