Anyone else think that it maybe a substitution too late yesterday ,Taylor coming on for Rangel ? .IMO he should have been playing a few games ago ,either instead of Ben or Rangel .Rangel has maybe one more season in him at this level and unless Tiendalli ups his game then we're limited within the remainder of the squad to fill the right back position . Please feel free to discuss
Taylor will want to play LB , if not with us , elsewhere . Taylor hasnt been given a sniff since going down injured over a year ago I think .. Would prefer to sell Davies for big bucks and start using Taylor again with that young fellow we bought as his back up . Lets not forget how well Jazz played on the right when we had no one else, I think under Rodgers .
I have to disagree with him not better than Davies, he's a better defender (which you want a full back to be as his first duty ) and I can't remember when he covered for Rangel as a right back , if my memories correct he came to the club as a right sided player .Rangel isn't getting any younger ,Jazz came in and did a job in our 1st PL season when Rangel was out injured and was competent at best but with another two years on from then he hasn't really being pushing for a place in the squad so I can't see him being Rangels' replacement .
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27207947 Well there wasn't much interest last time I posted , so maybe now it's time to revive it . Tiendalli, Taylor or Jazz ? Please feel free to talk amongst yourselves
Jazz is the natural right back so he deserves his chance. Tiendalli for me should never play for us again, he has been that poor this season. I would also give Neil a chance at left back.
Whatever we say Taylor will get the nod. Monk doesn't like those Johnny Foreigner types. ****, forgot about Jazz. No, Taylor will start imo.
That's for sure Taylor for me every time Tiendalli can go not up to scratch and give Jazz a go, and as for Davies if a good offer comes in then he could be sold
Aye - perfect time to give Jazz a couple of games. Hardly ever let us down when he's come in and always gives it his best.
Taylor for me, he has sat on the sidelines too long, its wrong to just not give him the chance to play a few games.
and me , he's too good a player to leave on the bench .A chance for him to reinvent himself ,not that he needs to .
I agree that rangel is facing the time where he will be looking at being a bit part player. A couple of others too if we find replacements for them, Leon is getting close but he is a fighter and wont give up, His legs may give him an indication soon that he is slowing down.
Im not sure about jazz, the prem is a bit to much for him, I can see monk giving most of the players a game in the last two..
May as well play Taylor now we are safe. If it takes a couple of typical Taylor performances to convince people he isn't as good as his reputation then now is the time. I'm not sure he'd get game time in any other Prem club. Not only is his game poor but so is his attitude on the pitch. When he loses the ball he blames his own team mates, when he loses the ball up field he has a tendency to sat put and wave his arms about, 99 times out of 100 he'll pass the ball back; not what our current route (ish) one football requires. Tiendalli (far more creative and a better defender than he gets credit for) or Jazz (always sound) for me.
I agree that Taylor is a tad overrated and has one good game and then ten bad ones and the fact is that he always seem to be going in the same direction as the opposition...backwards Ben is a far better player...
Ben has better crossing and short passing ability but lacks the pace of Taylor. It's worth giving Taylor a go at right back/ left wing to keep him happy but for the long term I can only see him being used as a sub in case Ben gets injured. We definitely need to buy a natural right back in the summer
