What a w4nker of ref, out of all the refs I dislike him the most. I thought you don't give an advantage when it's a penalty/red card decision, you do it right away and the contact started out of the box anyhow...
Nowt better than a bit of controversy! Need to look again, but seemed to be a denial of a clear goal-scoring opportunity, with a pull-back started outside of the box. So a red-card and free kick.
That actually suits us beceause a victory for either side would mean two teams cannot catch us, not that we are going down anyway. I now see Fulham and Cardiff dropping through the trapdoor and Sunderland, Norwich & Villa scrapping for that last spot.
If Cardiff won, Sunland could still catch us. Fortunately, both of those are theoretical scenarios about as likely as a meteor hitting the West Stand today.
Ok, i get it now The 1st foul was outside the box , ref plays the advantage 2nd foul , 2nd pull in the box , Pen and red card
If the initial foul started outside the box which it did then dowd should of played the advantage, if sunderland didn't score but the advantage was long enough then just deal with the player with either a red/yellow or bring the ball back for a free kick to sunderland on the edge of the box and sort the player out with a red/yellow. BUT if you look closer enough on the replay the cardiff defender lets go just as they go over the line in to the box.
No but the sooner it's mathematical the better. Even if one team did, somehow, manage to pull off a miracle and win all their remaining games to overtake us, Norwich aren't going to win their next two to get ahead of us.
Having listened to the pundits and watched it in slow-mo, they seem to be saying that because Wickham did not go to ground and the tugging affected his pace into the area, then a penalty was appropriate - got to be honest and admit I did not realise that condition of award could be applied. Still agree with Hat that Marshall was lucky not to be carded. Either way, I think that, in the course of the game, the referee was excellent.
Normally I don't bother with the lower end of the table but ........ Sunderland supporters are a group of turds. Very smelly, soft, two faced, hypocritical, deluded turds. They'll blame Steve Bruce if they go down but won't be big enough to thank him if they stay up. I have sympathy for Cardiff supporters regarding the ongoing situation with their mad-as-a-hatter owner. I'd like them to stay up & Tan to **** off. Norwich got rid of Chris Hughton, whom I quite like, at the wrong time. So I'd like them to go too. I think Al Fayad knew what was coming for Fulham & that's why he sold up & ****ed off. I'd also like them to go. Unfortunately I think Sunderland will stay up with Bruce getting no thanks & the other three will go.
I'm quite confident we are okay, but I can't help but recall Newcastle getting caught out on the last day in our first PL season; numerical certainty is King for me too. I hope you've taken your tablets today!
The rules state If you pull a players shirt outside the box and it continues into the box then the referee should award a penalty

I know a lot of Sunderland supporters (as opposed to keyboard warriors) and most give Bruce credit for what he did and only qualify it with their opinions on some of his buys, which can be argued reasonably fairly. The way I see it is that both the club and SB made a mistake getting together - all clubs have idiots who will devolve to the **** arguments and at the SOL, it was a few boo-boys. Time everyone moved on, especially posters on this Hull City AFC board.
Sorry, I only meant to highlight the second part of that sentence. Why would they thank him? Leicester fans aren't thanking Sven for promotion?
