    Not sure I understand how it's denial of a clear goalscoring opportunity if they actually do get a clear goalscoring opportunity?

    If he had scored, would it still have been red?

    But why would it be different? He still had the opportunity didn't he?

    I haven't actually seen it either, maybe it will be clear when I do, but it sounds very odd!

    Apparently, if the foul starts outside the box but continues inside, the penalty is given. Silly rule!

    Def Red card

    The debate is whether the shirt/arm pull occurred in or outside the box. The incident links in nicely with what we were discussing in the match thread about players staying on their feet.
    Wickham tried to stay on his feet and go for goal but was slowed up significantly enough to allow the keeper to close the angle

    Ok, that description makes it sound a reasonable decision. I'll have to watch it later and see I suppose.

    I disagree, if you don't want a penalty to be given, let go before they get into the box. If you're pulling the shirt inside the box, it's a penalty.

    Apparently the new rule is if it starts outside the area and carryd on inside the area it's a pen. Kind of a **** rule in my eyes, it should be from where it started.
