It's nice to see that Sherwood's continued to talk out of his arse, prior to our game against Stoke.
Apparently Spurs fans are far too impatient with youth players, Liverpool fans are wonderful and Charlie Adam's a great bloke. <doh>
    What a prick.

Is it not bad enough that we have to put up with him trying to manage us but now we have to listen to him slag us off and take the piss?

I`ve often thought Sherwood has a secret affinity for Liverpool, and his team selection at Klanfield would suggest likewise.

much speculation/rumours that LVG is likely to be on his way to United now. - If what we've heard/read about Levy and LVG meeting as early as January is true, I'd love to know why we haven't secured his signature. - but well never hear anything, of course! <laugh>

Who is out there that's going to realistically improve us and get us where we want to be? The only one I can think of who has a decent track record and some quality about him, is Benitez.

Potch i'm not sure about. I might be wrong, but I feel that we could be seeing another AVB if we appoint him. Not in terms of the type of football, but the fact he's still an unknown. We've seen Laudrup have a decent season, and then the following year.. he's sacked. Who saw that coming? Southampton are arguably one of the best clubs in the country for producing top quality players through their youth system and I personally think Pochettino been made to look good by the likes of Lallana, Shaw etc. I wonder how successful he'd have been at another club, such as Norwich, for example...

Frank De Boer is one I'd love to see here at the club, but again, it's a risk which I'm not so sure we can afford, bearing in mind how volatile things currently are.

Levy has his work cut out and I have no idea what he's going to do to please the fans. If LVG goes elsewhere, many fans are going to have even more ammo against Levy, who they're already pissed off enough with.

This summer is probably one of the most testing periods of Levy's time with us.

Timmy takes at least 16 pts from the final third.
He avoids the worst total since Spurs got back into the CL slot mix, and equals Arry 2011-12.

And that is why people need "accreditation" before being allowed to publish stats.
    AVB this season had a PPG of 1.68. So the difference = 1.95 - 1.68 = 0.27.
Therefore the net PL benefit that Timmy has brought to Spurs = 0.27 * 20 = 5.4 pts.

Now add his cup games and examine his record against the top four.

That's not an answer to my comment. It actually specifically omits his cup record.
His top four record is four losses from four games, not including the cup loss to Arsenal.
    His cup record is P:6, W:1, D:1, L:4. Villas-Boas' was P:10, W:9, D:1, L:0. We progressed when we drew via penalties.

Our previous manager's main problem was his exceptionally boring football.
Sherwood has undoubtedly addressed that, but he's done it by using Ossie's playbook.

All this says to me is that Sherwood is really no better than AVB was. After the money that was spent - £100mil+ we should EXPECT to beat the "lesser" sides. We should not, however, expect to be taking thrashings from the clubs that are supposedly our rivals. No wonder they laugh at us!...

stats mean nothing if we can't beat the teams above us.
The football is more entertaining than AVB's sleepfest
but is of such low quality that it is hardly worth watching.

Roll on 1 year, 2 or 5 we will be in the same position.
No top 4, no silverware and we all know why if we are being honest with ourselves .

  14. Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood will be wanted by West Brom if they decide to sack Spaniard Pepe Mel this summer.

    Goodbye, Baggies!

It'll be a valiant effort if they manage to stay up this season, but if they get Sherwoodie in for next season, they are royally ****ed.

The question is, Sherwood vs. who? There have been some serious negative aspects to Sherwood, beginning with his (mis-) handling of the press, but if I were limited to saying "success" or "failure," I'd say success. The team is scoring, some of our new players look good, his PL record (but not his cup record) is good. If we were to stand pat, and start next season with the same manager and the same starters, I think we'd be good. So who would make us better?

As of right now, I'd risk de Boer, Garcia (Roma's coach), and Pochettino, I think. I tend to think none of them are available.

The risk with replacing Sherwood is missing the chance to build momentum with a manager, a team and a team that can symbionate (sic). Another risk is that Sherwood seems to be on the same page with Ade, who's become arguably our key player, and has a long history of being a strong (some would say difficult:D ) character.

Thats my feeling in some ways too. Sure Sherwood has his negatives, as does nearly any manager, but the grass isn't always greener on the other side and if we can't get in a serious name he has to be an option. Even someone like LVG has drawbacks, not least because we know from all the stories that he can be arrogant and divisive at times. Its the same situation with Levy as it is with the manager IMO - yes the situation is not perfect by a long shot right not but twisting isn't always the answer. Levy is an awful lot better than many chairmen out there. But thats another discussion.

Yes Sherwood shoots his mouth off too much and yes he appears to be having problems in the dressing room but I do feel a bit for him because he's had his contract publicly ripped up in his face and is facing a lot of opposition from fans when he does appear to have picked up our results and performances, a number of notable capitulations aside. I am partially playing devil's advocate here but I do half mean it as well - why shouldn't he have a shot at the job with his own crop of players in place? In principle I like the idea of a young, English coach with a connection to the club and who likes promoting youth players (with reasonable success so far it has to be said), even if in practice Sherwood is by no means the finished article yet. He would be a massive risk for the cub to back financially in any serious way but so will any new manager. There is much food for thought in so many ways this summer for the club hierarchy.

I take your one of those people who think the only reason we've failed this season is because of Sherwood, nothing to do with the fact its the worse squad we've had in years

I can't tell if you're wumming or not?!

    But I'll presume you're not.
Actually, this is one of the best squads we've had. We have decent cover in just about every position and a very deep squad. Unfortunately it's not been managed anywhere near as well as it could have been.
