79 points this week - 10 the previous week - consistency - Hmm, where have I heard that before....
Also just the width of the crossbar away from a + 100 score. Back to another 10 next week I guess

WPL League positions (After 32 rounds)

A couple of changes amongst the top six, with Mark moving into 3rd and Barry moving into 5th at my own expense. Fez managed to cut Yorkie's lead in half - so all still very open up there. Highest score of the day was Salisbury Kev with an impressive 80 - altogether 5 of us got Watford's result correct.

Some high scores around this week with Theo managing 84 and 3 others topping the 70 mark. Highest risers were Salisbury Kev and Theo. At the top it's starting to look as if it will be a close finish with only 46 separating the top 4 places.

My season's a bit like the Hornets...occasional highs and a sizeable number of disappointments!

 

I keep expecting to drop like a stone.... and still hanging on in there...

Half way through the Easter fixtures and the updated table looks like this. Yorkie has made what could be a decisive break from the field with only 3 rounds left. Still quite close for the other placings towards the top. Highest score of the day was by Yellotoyou with 77 followed by Chris 13 with 68 and Salisbury Kev with 64. One of the other highest scorers being Saxet - whose 57 was from only 5 fixtures (possible ton there ?).

Hi Colognehornet, could you check my score this week please? I could be wrong but I think I'm 68 rather than 58 points?
Not that it will make any difference at the end of the day

Good to know that people actually check their scores, and so sorry for the mistake - which came from the Watford match where you actually scored 14 as opposed to 4. Have double checked all other scores as well as I had done them in a hurry this week. I have edited the table to reflect the extra ten. Happy Easter to you as well.

WPL League positions (After 35 rounds)

After Easter and with only 2 rounds left Yorkie has extended his lead to 60 points -a gap which is going to be very difficult to bridge. Elsewhere at the top several of us are pressing the self destruct buttons at the moment (myself included) - with all of the highest scores coming further down the table. Highest score was theghost with 56, followed by Saxet with 54. Just noticed that on the first Saturday of the season no less than 8 of us scored over 60 which goes to prove that we tip better when we have no 'form' to go on !

Too true, Cologne! Was top at Christmas, now sinking without trace. Haven't had a decent score for months now through thinking too hard.

Here are the updated league positions with only one round left. Yorkie takes a 54 point lead into the last round which is going to be difficult to bridge, but not impossible. Very tight 3 way battle for the second spot - with Mark and Barry coming up strongly. Barry scored the highest of the round with 81 - made even more impressive by actually scoring points from 8 of his tips ( so far nobody has actually scored points from all 10 ).

Well, that`s it folks. The worthy winner of the WPL Championship for 2013-14 is:

The runner up is Mark the horn

Hornet Fez won the battle for 3rd place by a whisker. Special mention also to Yellotoyou who recorded the highest single round score of the season with 96 in round 27. The WPL trophy now leaves the Rhineland and makes its way to the foggy climes of Yorkshire. Many thanks to all for taking part.
