Did not wait around at the end,why oh why, would you want to thank players that only produced for the last three months.

SC does deserve credit for turning the sinking ship from a certain drop to the basement league, full respect and a big thanks to him.

The players did not deserve a end of season thanks.
Many fans walking out of the Dolman were saying the same.

Players deserve praise when it is warranted, this season in my opinion it does not.

Lets hope SC tweaks the team for a promotion push next season.

One player i was told today would be leaving, is the man that kept us in touch for three quarters of the season with his specatacular goals,SC has said he will be leaving.

I hope SC changes his mind, talent like his is worth paying the entrance fee to watch.

JET or Baldock? I'd rather JET leave than Baldock.

Quite a few stayed behind, Loius Carey led the team out which was good for him as I guess that will be his last season.

Like COYR I'm hoping you are refereeing to JET as I think trying to build a team around him has been our downfall this season. On his game he is breathtaking to watch but when he's not it's just annoying watching his half arsed attempts and those moments are just to far between now.

JET has put some weight on. He's not so slick when he has the ball these days, he doesn't glide past players like he use to in the SOD days, I use to expect him to beat 5 players and put it in the top corner, he can't beat a single player these days..

JET is a luxury we cannot afford at League One level.
I am not referring to his salary but his amazing lack of consistency and the fact that he plays for himself instead of the team.

We were warned about Jet being lazy and only playing when he wants to put out, and that is not a solid foundation to build a consistent squad especially when you are losing points waiting for him to show up. Get rid of him asap and invest your transfer money more wisely. He fits in to the same category as some others - so tell me who!

    Bang on

We cannot afford passengers next year. JET has scored some amazing and valuable goals, but his inconsistency is not what's needed in a promotion push and too often he was invisible during certain games

The SC quote I heard a couple of weeks ago talked about getting him really fit in pre season

Doesn't matter how fit he is if his head isn't right going into every game. Too many times he's gone missing and I don't think it's a fitness issue

You know you have sort of contradicted yourself Red Robin saying you didn't want to say thanks but then a player is worth the entrance fee alone <whistle>

Can I just say a JET in a promotion pushing team will be better than the JET we've had his year..... Which is quite obvious really as we would be fighting for promotion. Think we need to keep him personally as if he can score another 20+ goals in the season, along with Baldock, we can't lose. Just the defence needs to sharpen up and if Cotts can get Nosworthy in. We should stick with whats working right now, which is a back 3 of NN KO DW. The team at the moment really does need the tiniest of tweaks. If we can get Simon Moore in then we should. Have him as our No1 with Frankie as back up. Nyron Nosworhty needs to be brought in and El-Abd needs a pre season to impress immensely and prove himself from the bench. Luke Freeman should be our only big signing, the one thing we don't have is a winger. My only concern if we buy Freeman is where does that leave Cunningham? Wade Elliott is a MUST. Even for just a year, he will play a big part for us next year. Patterson, whislt he hasn't been terrible, I don't think he has earned a contract so I think we need to be looking for someone of his attributes. Small and Fast, Barnett can go, he's been terrible! so a new target man will be needed as well. Other than that we don't need anyone else.... In my opinion anyway.

    Summer Transfers:

Simon Moore or a new GK
    Nyron Nosworthy
    Wade Elliott
    Luke Freeman
    New Striker
    New Target Man

    Moore
    Nosworthy Osborne Williams
    Freeman Pack Elliott Cunningham
    JET
    Baldock ?????

    Fielding
    El-Abd
    Flint
    Wagstaff
    Reid
    Kelly
    Burns
    ????

I believe that end of season celebrations are unwarranted unless the Club have actually achieved any real success during the season.

Winning promotion, titles and cups whether in the Premiership or League 4 of the Downs League. Not for avoiding relegation!

I don't see it as a celebration, I see it as the players thanking the fans for sticking by them, because that's what it is. Remember, you don't have to go to the games if you don't want to

To Shiny and other JET fans.

To win promotion a club needs a squad of players with various talents and skills. But in addition, the constants are determination, consistent effort and team spirit especially on wet, dirty, cold nights at places like Chesterfield, Notts County etc.

Given that JET has talent and skill in bucket loads, where does he figure for the others?

Look around the current football world and see how the great players stand up in the effort and team spirit stakes. Suarez is an amazing goalscorer but he works like hell. Aaron Ramsey, Lampard, Gerrard, Messi, Iniesta and at our level Wade Elliott. Never see them standing still wondering what to do next. They pass and move not try to make four opponents in a ring around them look idiots.
JET has talent and skill but he is wasting them. When he retires he will say "If only....."

Why would we want to permanently sign an ageing centre half who will be 34 in October?
Thank you Nyron but goodbye. Otherwise how do we get the Academy boys like Batten in the team?

Celebration of what? We are finishing mid table in a poor quality league.

PS. Shiny I not having a go at you, just my opinion differs quite widely from yours. Have a good day.

Can I add JET is with us because we are LEAGUE 1! If he was better and more consistent he wouldn't be here. He would be top half championship, bottom end of the prem. Just because a player gives 100% every game doesn't mean he is amazing. I'll give you Marvin Elliott, a player who when he puts on the shirt gives everything for us for the whole 90. Yet gets slagged off if he miss places a pass and people forget about his effort. So yes whilst its great when a player gives 100% for 90 minutes, it doesn't always mean they are the best player on the pitch, sometimes they can be the worst. JET has something nobody else in this team has, that on its own is worth having. We would be stupid to get rid of him, very stupid indeed.

I shall imagine people will say "yeah but JET hasn't been that good recently" I'll agree........ BUT! we are in our best form of the season at the moment. So imagine being in great form, with a JET who is in great form... Pretty special, now imagine being in great form with a JET who is off form, that is what we are now and as it stands we are 4/5th in the form guide. Some people are only happy when they have something to moan about

I'm off to the pub to watch Liverpool v Chelsea. I get to do this because my wife is in Bristol minding her 94 years young mother. Except that her mother will do all the cooking!

We ended up with 6 loan signings- The majority of those certainly helped and Cottrell can be credited with keeping us up- For that, I am grateful. Also for JETs goals early season, Baldocks superb all round contribution. I did say at the start of the season that he should be made captain. he has been a great example.

There are others, not near the team, or since left that are not worthy of such gratitude. I couldn't make yesterdays game due to an early evening commitment but doubt that I would have stayed to watch this. Success in the end this season was staying up. We need to be much better than that next season.I am pretty confident we will be.
