Full time 1-3 Poor performance and the defence was all over the place by the sounds of it. Gestede had a field day. Very big game now against Watford on Tuesday. Look forward to hearing from those who were there.
Other scores relevant to us: Boro 3-1 Barnsley (Barnsley are relegated) QPR 1-1 Millwall Wigan 0-2 Blackpool Doncaster 1-3 Reading Birmingham 1-3 Leeds
Not going to talk about the game or other results. Not sure if you guys use cash out but thankfully had a friend watching mine and did so at just under 90. Will put 50 towards cancer research per kish's post (again to Steven sutton) and the other £40 for shelter (chosen charity). Will post receipts tomorrow or Monday. Cheers for letting us know, kish
Just back from the game. Our defence and keeper were pathetic today. Centre halves bullied by Gestede, Fox sadly struggling , and Hamer at fault for yet another go. I am starting to think that BH is a charlatan, feigning injury after his error on their first goal. Won't be sorry to see him go this season. Matches like this make you question why you make the effort. And there have been too many of them this season. Unenjoyable. Jackson should take our penalties. AA and Petrucci are ****e. Cousins needs a rest.
Hamer poor cousins poor Jackson poor Astrid non existant solly not fit fox iffy Morrison poor Dervite not good Sordell good but missed pen Poyet decent Harriott ok despite fans groans It's a crime Wilson not involved. Blackburn didn't need to do a lot to win. Watford next .
He's the only player we've got who can play wide right. Playing Cousins there didn't work under the previous manager and it doesn't work under this one. Not saying one player would have made any difference today though.
Any other club and Harriott would now be getting it from the boo boys for these performances. Ditto Reza.
Only reason why I reckon Jackson didnt take the penalty was because he missed against Blackburn (and Paul Robinson) last season
Anyway, obv didn't see the game today but certainly not looking forward to this run in, Sordell is a waste of space, yes, he scored a goal today and a hat trick on monday, about the rest of the season, he is a disgrace to the shirt, players who put in effort are far more credit, sadly that's like polishing a turd, we're crap at the moment, it's horrible. Can't comment on goals or performance but from what I heard it's simply the last 3rd being the trouble again. Yes move on, but Yann scored twice again today... disgraceful decision, YES, he may have rejected a contract offer, but don't sell him and lose him for a free in summer, better staying up and losing him on a free than selling him for 500k and getting relegated, disgraceful decision. Powell should have gone then, but instead dragged on and to no avail, and the sh!te players that RD has brought in because he under estimated the level of the league is a joke, we got bought by someone who knows no one about football, and it has cost us our league position.
Hamer should have saved the first, Sordell (or someone else) should have hit a better penalty, Reza shouldn't have come on, Wilson should have come on/started. Sordell was our best player...funny how he's suddenly started putting in effort, where's that been all season? The only positive from today is the other results, if we win on Tuesday we're safe. Got my Blackpool ticket though.
Why should he have gone then, he wanted Kermorgant to stay and Stephens against Mr Duchatelet's wishes. Do you think Kermorgant would've sccored fewer goals had he stayed on at Charlton than anyone else, he's scoring them for free at Bournemouth and had he stayed under Powell's managment would've carried on coming back to form as he was in the Cup games. You can't blame Powell for that loss.
I didn't blame Powell for the loss.... I said Powell should have left when Kermit and Stephens were sold, the former against his wishes as it would have showed integrity, instead, Powell had to deal with a side missing 2 of his key players and he had no plan B... even when we won league 1 we said he had no plan B. Having his key players sold meant not even a Plan A. Instead he dragged on, fighting, but we couldn't see the win coming. If he had left then his rep would have been fine. Riga may have come in then and it would have allowed us to get someone else in the loan market, as RD didn't trust Powell's judgement, thus wouldn't allow him the signings. This is not Powell's fault we lost, but it is RD's fault for his lack of knowledge of English football and for selling off Yann wanting to make a quick buck. Yann may not have scored for free for us... but he was scoring more than Church and Sordell, and was the one person you could rely on popping up and making something happen.
The team performance was poor today, perhaps the number of games played recently is beginning to tell. Yann being sold may yet prove to be the one single most destructive action in this season. but its happened, here's hoping he can help the old team with a goal or three next Saturday against the Wall. Of course a win on Tuesday & we can all enjoy the long weekend. I fear though it will go to next Saturday & I think I'm glad I'm going to miss it. But heres hoping I'm wrong & Jose's strange team selection will work on Tuesday night. Just one more big successful push Tuesday night please team.
Imagine if Doncaster are the team to get the final relegation spot and we are 3 points ahead of them, I imagine that it will be brought up again somewhere.
